Lets try this again.

I saw a trailer for "Chicken Little, The Movie" Monday.

Hey! that reminds me...I used to work for the government as well! Indeed I know all about their sneaky ways. -The extra mail they made me carry when I wasn't looking...

-All the stuff they DIDN'T tell me! Like who REALLY shot Kennedy!

-The way they'd mess with the clocks to short us on our breaks!

-The asteroids that are about to SLAM into the earth, destroying all life as we know it.

The sneaks! This is an outrage! I DEMAND reparations when this calamity is over!

Dude - It was posted in the "real" lunchroom. Oh, man, don't tell me that you fell for that sign that said "Cafeteria"?!!??!! Do you mean to tell me that you didn't meet a single alien ambassador while you worked your way from GS11 to GS13? And the clock thing - that was really just the side effect of the time travel experiments going on in the basement. The deal was that we would steal 5 minutes from the "cafeteria" every day and transfer it to the real lunchroom.

Kennedy committed suicide, by the way. Back in 1949. The guy in the car was really his security double who was about to tell the world about a hidden asteroid that's going to smack into the earth in June 2004.

Anyway, nice chatting. Did I mention the government time travel stuff? It should warm your heart to know that all present and former government employees - 'cause we're in on the secret - will get to time jump over this whole "end of the world as we know it" thing and emerge as an intact government in 2104. I'll see you then.... What? You mean you didn't get the secret passcodes to the back door? Too bad. That's a bummer.

I alway find the "End of the World" Christians to be funny, if not kinda sad.

They're always looking for the boogyman in the next 3-6 months that will wipe us out, and when it doesn't happen, they look for the next one.

They're so busy looking for how they will die that they find very little to live for.

They should turn off the TV, stop listening to the scaremongers, and go take the kids out for ice cream.

Good point. But if it were true, he wouldn't be worth the effort. Indeed, shutting down websites in his wake would be completely counterproductive. It'd just lend credibility to his claims of being shadowed by the shadowy.

But then, all we have is his allegation that that happened. All I know about this guy is that he is making claims on the Internet that fit a common mold in the 'conspiracy community'. Maybe they're true. Probably not.

He also, per an earlier post, apparently has some scientific creds. Okay, well so do Stanton Friedman and Jim Hoagland, so we're neither here nor there.

If I were a betting man, I'd not have a problem with going to the beach on the appointed dates. Probably wouldn't matter anyway, the energy released from an event like a major asteroid strike on a tectonic plate would probably bounce me and any cars and buildings and rocks and everything else near me thirty or forty feet in the air- resulting in a sort of 'bug in a dryer full of bricks' effect.

Having just read thru this entire thread, from Post 1 to 75, I am quite intrigued.

Like many here, *I* am also a *former* federal employee. Like some of you here, I am into amateur astronomy. Like a small group of you, I am into the area of preparedness and survival.

I just happen to be the founder and author of SurvivalRing, which Rick Donaldson mentioned a couple of times in this thread.

Having been doing research for years, on the areas of government level continuity and survival, with tens of thousands of pages of original government printed documents in my personal possession, and knowing folks in both active and/or retired military and public safety areas, I can say that "chatter" in those realms of information has increased greatly the past 2 months.

These are the things that concern me...

a) movement of naval assets from BOTH U.S. coasts.
b) very large movement of military hardware in all areas of the nation (by rail, air, and truck)
c) fleeting comments of "external" threats to the U.S.
d) mentions of "the draft" again ( needed to possibly supply slave labor in recovery from a "catastrophic" incident, maybe)
e) front page news of "certain strikes" on U.S. soil of terrorist threats ( political conventions, G-8 summit, etc.)...possibly giving cover story for massive asset movements for anyone concerned...
f) ...(your comment here...what have YOU seen that on the surface makes sense, but deep down, could be put in place for a "possible" strike from space?)

My site has been online for close to 7 years now. Most people that know me personally, either thru the site, phone calls, emails, or in person know I am a level headed guy, who doesn't believe every Niburu, X-Planet, Time travel, UFO, Bilderberg, NWO, conspiracy threory, or Remote Viewing story that comes through...NONE of them.

I personally research and verify things I hear from many sources, like most of you on this particular board.

There are too many parts of this story that come STRAIGHT out of science fiction novels...off the top of my head, I can think of the following titles, that Aussie may have read in creating this story, IF his story is fiction...

SHIVA DESCENDING by Gregory Benford

www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/ detail/-/0812516907?v=glance

EARTH by David Brin

www.davidbrin.com/othersfbooks.html

and, of course,

LUCIFERS HAMMER

www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/ detail/-/0449235998?v=glance

BUT, if the chatter around the world, the data Aussie has provided, and the movement of military assets is true, for the reasons *suspected*, WHAT do we do...I mean really?

Just what WOULD any person of real committment do to increase chances of survival IN a real event of this exact nature?

Leave the cities? Stock up food? Have or make a shelter? Buy up all the guns at the local pawn shops?

Or, just hope for the best, with your authentic Titanium Wile E. Coyote umbrella?

Let's assume, just for the moment, that this *EVENT*, this "three strikes, you're out", civilization-destroying thing happens, is inevitable, no way out, we are all screwed...

What will YOU do?

Where will YOU go?

ARE you really right with your maker?

I'm not a doomer, and never intend to be...I see threats as a way to learn, to grow, to change, and to prosper...in all the right ways. And, in getter there, I've studied the worst things that can happen, including thermonuclear war.

Yep, here's the math to prove it...

Giant Flaming Rocks From Space = GFRFS
All Out Thermonuclear War = AOTW
The End Of The World As We Know It = TEOTWAWKI

GFRFS => AOTW == TEOTWAWKI

How about your comments now, on *if* this event occurs, what, in real terms, could or would YOU do to get PAST the event?

Here's YOUR chance...

Well. "IF" this does indeed happen, I can say that my survival technique would be that I would not survive. This would be HELL on earth. As for My family and I? We would be back home with our maker where we belong.

NASA Plans To Put An Aura Around The Earth

On June 19, NASA will launch Aura, a next generation Earth-observing satellite. Aura will supply the best information yet about the health of Earth's atmosphere.

Aura will help scientists understand how atmospheric composition affects and responds to Earth's changing climate. The satellite will help reveal the processes that connect local and global air quality. It will also track the extent Earth's protective ozone layer is recovering.

Aura will carry four instruments each designed to survey different aspects of Earth's atmosphere. The instruments will provide an unprecedented and complete picture of the composition of the atmosphere. Aura will survey the atmosphere from the troposphere, where mankind lives, through the stratosphere, where the ozone layer resides and protects life on Earth.

Aura's space-based view of the atmosphere and its chemistry will complete the first series of NASA's Earth Observing System satellites. The other satellites are, Terra, which monitors land, and Aqua, which observes Earth's water cycle.

"Gaining this global view of Earth will certainly reap new scientific discoveries that will serve as essential stepping stones to our further exploration of the Moon, Mars and beyond, the basis of the Vision for Space Exploration," NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe said.

Aura will help answer key scientific questions, including whether the ozone layer is recovering. Aura data may prove useful determing the effectiveness of international agreements, which banned ozone-depleting chemicals like chlorofluorocarbons. (CFCs)

Aura will accurately detect global levels of CFCs, and their byproducts, chlorine and bromine, which destroy ozone. Aura will also track the sources and processes controlling global and regional air quality. It will help distinguish between natural and human-caused sources of these gases. When ozone exists in the troposphere, it acts as an air pollutant. Tropospheric ozone is linked to high levels of precursors such as nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and volatile hydrocarbons. Aura will help scientists follow the sources of tropospheric ozone and its precursors.

"Aura, the first comprehensive laboratory in space to help us better understand the chemistry and composition of the Earth's atmosphere, is fundamentally a mission to understand and protect the very air we breathe, " said NASA Associate Administrator for Earth Science Dr. Ghassem Asrar. "It is also a perfect complement to our other Earth Observing System satellites that, together, will aid our nation and our neighbors by determining the extent, causes, and regional consequences of global change," he said.

As the composition of Earth's atmosphere changes, so does its ability to absorb, reflect and retain solar energy. Greenhouse gases, including water vapor, trap heat in the atmosphere. Airborne aerosols from human and natural sources absorb or reflect solar energy based on color, shape, size, and substance. The impact of aerosols, tropospheric ozone and upper tropospheric water vapor on Earth's climate remains largely unquantified. Aura's ability to monitor these agents will help unravel some of their mystery.

Aura's four instruments, the High Resolution Dynamics Limb Sounder (HIRDLS); the Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS); the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI); and the Tropospheric Emission Spectrometer (TES) will work together to provide measurements in the troposphere and stratosphere to help answer important climate questions.

HIRDLS was built by the United Kingdom and the United States. OMI was built by the Netherlands and Finland in collaboration with NASA. NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif., constructed TES and MLS. NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md., manages the Aura mission.

NASA's Earth Science Enterprise is dedicated to understanding the Earth as an integrated system and applying Earth System Science to improve prediction of climate, weather, and natural hazards using the unique vantage point of space.

Okay, just for the sake of argument, let's assume that the following condition is true: Three large interstellar objects are going to impact the planet in the next thirty days.

There are a huge number of variables that determine one's likely short-term outlook in such a case.

1. Objects mass, speed and composition- IOW is it a 'dirty snowball' cometary object, which is shedding mass furiously as it approaches the Sun, or a nickel and iron asteroid that will remain largely intact- even through atmospheric entry? What will the energy release numbers look like?

2. Locations of impact. In the ocean? Which ocean, where? What are the characteristics of the imact sites, whether marine or on land? What does the geology look like under them? Per question number one, is there sufficient energy that we end up with a big crater someplace, or is there a chance of severe geologic disturbance up to, in an extreme case, cracking the planetary crust? Does it jostle a subduction zone and cause secondary effects like a massive earthquake or popping open the caldera at Yellowstone?

Right now we have no mass, speed, composition or impact site data. In short, we know nothing.

Let's say it's an ocean impact in the Atlantic, eight hundred miles off of the North American continental shelf, water is two miles deep, object is solid in nature. Impact site is relatively geologically stable. Assuming, and I am just pulling this notion out of the air, that it is a survivable event at any location that either one of us are likely to be, what can we expect?

Large, destructive waves in coastal areas- possibly global in nature. Large, destructive shock wave transmitted through the ground. These could be anything from real monsters that pretty much reduce civilization as we know it to little or nothing, to just chucking peoples yachts into the streets. Depends on the values we plug into question #1.

Seismic disturbances ranging from a temblor that makes people run outside and look around at each other, to bouncing people, buildings and cars into the air. Again, depends on the math.

If I were really determined to survive something like this, I'd move to the Rockies or someplace, pick my homesite with infinite care, have the ability to farm, hunt and fish and protect myself from any possible hordes of the unprepared. Unless a)The impact is of such violence that this is all moot, or b) I get squashed like a bug by having the rotten luck of being at Ground Zero.

Speaking of which, the effect of 9/11 that I found most startling was the disruption in the fabric of American society. There were economic ramifications that were significant. Suppose, in that light, that a GFRFS landing in the Atlantic were to sweep the humanity, economy, infrastructure and institutions on the eastern coast of North America away, and to a lesser extent, the west as well. On 9/11, we lost a few buildings, a few thousand people, and we became aware undeniably, that we are at war. Now multiply that times the number of likely victims and damage from losing the whole east coast.
For some period of time, we wouldn't be a society anymore. You'd be on your own.

A lot of people would die from the primary effects and secondary ones as well. What happenes to the money systems that we have in place? Do farmers and farm hands still move the food? Is there a financial incentive for them to do so, or do we have some sort of primitive barter system? Is there oil and gas to get distribution networks going again? How do you pay truckers to work, if money doesn't have people's faith of value?

After things calmed down a bit, there would have to be some kind of 'provisional' society formed. I don't know what it would look like. City-States in loose coalition, trying to be as 'American' as possible?

Best bet to survive it, assuming your number isn't up to begin with, is probably the tried and true rural mountain homestead, as self-sufficient as possible. And that only works if we don't have so much debris thrown into the atmosphere that it's tough to grow anything because it is too dark.

This is pretty worst-case doom and gloom. I don't beleive that this is going to take place anytime soon. It is also entirely theoretical- we have no numbers whatsoever to work with. If this were to happen this month- with my health situation, my financial situation and my location- I'm screwed. Game over. If I thought that this was going to actually happen, and I don't, and if I had serious resources, I'd be as far away from the coast as I could get, on arable land, away from other people, and kitted out as best I could be. I would also not let anyone know who I wasn't prepared to feed clothe and house that I was prepared. Anonymity and being almost impossible to find are a better defense than a squad of armed Marines.

Or the things could miss us completely. Or maybe they aren't there at all.

There are other reasons that the fleets could be putting to sea, including those actually cited. I am in the DC area, and have decent sources. Not hearing anything at all. It *is* odd, but I am not seeing anything else that is particularly alarming.

Military equipment moving by rail? Does it all the time. And we are at war. I remember hearing a lot of talk in the mid-nineties about such movements, and 'prison cars', complete with built-in shackles, are being fabricated at some plant somewhere, and there are a bazillion white school busses in Texas somewhere for use by the UN occupation army. I mean, c'mon.

I was in the SF Bay Area during all of that. Apart from Waco and Ruby Ridge, and Clinton's cast of cartoon characters trying to disarm us and tax us all to death, I saw a COG site go up in Napa, and two actual honest-to-goodness black-painted Bell Jet Rangers with no markings on them, at Buchanan Field in Concord. I saw them from ten feet away, sitting behind a low cyclone fence. A few inquiries revealed that they belonged to the Sheriff's Department. I heard a *lot* of wild stuff. I *saw* very little happening.

As a matter of personal philosophy, simply structuring one's existance for *any* kind of large upheaval or disruption- whether it be an all-out nuclear event, asteroid strike, another Democratic Administration, or whatever, to my mind, requires approximately the same defensive measures. Get away from crowds of people, be able to feed, clothe, house, doctor and defend yourself from whatever comes along, rely only on God and your own two hands.

The third object is a known object, asteroid Itokawa, which will make it's closest approach on Jun 27. At about .0129 AU, which is 600,000 miles, give or take.

Just in case it IS going hit, anywhere...then all who intend to survive, should go find this title right now...

Title: Markets, Distribution, and Exchange After Societal Cataclysm-Final Report
Description of book: This report identifies constraints and opportunities for the restoration of economic exchange after nuclear war. Four survival scenarios are postulated based on high or low levels of damage to (1) institutions that signal trading opportunities, reduce transaction costs, and regulate and enforce contracts, and (2) resources that are used to create and define wealth. The four scenarios are Best case, Worst Case, Resource Abundance, and an Institution Intensive case. Discussed in depth are such items as property rights, barter, currency, trust, credit, supply and demand, and trust as related to authority. Very interesting reading.

Date of Copyright/Printing: March 1990

Even if the government were attempting to quell potential civilian rioting that would occur with general knowledge of the "end of the world", there would be signs of massive constructions underground (the "Burrow") preparing to preserve a remnant for repopulating the world. This would be a noticeable drain on the economy. It ain't there.

Consider: a world-wide consipracy of silence among astronomers and cosmologists may be possible (I doubt it... think of the egos) but how about a world-wide conspiracy of silence among BUREAUCRATS and POLITICIANS??? I think you would see a grand migration of bureaucrats' and politicians' families moving to Colorado and Montana, lands high and far away from oceans... it hasn't happened. Too many high-level government officials in FEMA and other departments have left government service in the past 20 years... many of them with no family "baggage" that can be used to coerce their cooperation and silence... to maintain such a stupendous conspiracy of silence. They haven't squealed!

If this EOW event were nigh, would we have allowed the Space Shuttle to have been sidetracked by one little accident? Wouldn't we be building as many as we could in hopes of a technological breakthrough that would need transportation to space to save us all? The shuttle is grounded!

Dr "Gartrel" MISSPELLED HIS OWN NAME! How likely is that? He also claimed that the "friction" of the "dust cloud" would result the Space Station and all satellites falling from orbit, releasing "tons of toxic gases and rad" that would cause us all to "choke". A proper scientist would refer to "DRAG" not "FRICTION" as what would cause the satellites to fall from orbit. A proper scientist would know that the itsy-bitsy amount of "toxic gases" and radiation added to the atmosphere by these falling satellites would not even be noticeable to humanity,

Speaking of the satellites if, as this guy asserts, we are already seeing the early effects of the "friction" on the Moon ("IT isn't where it supposed to be!") and the "wobble of the Earth" WHY can I still receive my satellite dish signal? Why hasn't this "friction" slowed the geo-synchronous satellites' orbits and caused them to no longer BE where my dish points???? Why are the GPS satellites still working?

I think the test of this scenario is in the reports of the naval ships going to sea.

IF the government is expecting major cosmic collisions in the next three-four weeks, then ALL 12 carrier groups would be sent to sea, not just seven.
