LOL. F*ng oil. I went downstairs and checked on Saturday, to find the tank nearly Dry, I Went off the beam (The person that does Laundry 24/7 is repeatedly asked to look in to make sure that doesnt happen, and apparently did not.)



Damn electric heaters on all weekend. : (

Thankfully they are coming today.

yes that is my standard route to and from work. i saw the gaping hole. i saw the smoke rising from it. i saw the huge flag draped over the side. i didn't get past it on 9/11 bc i couldn't find a bridge to get across to VA from DC and was anxious to get to Falls Church to my kids school. i thought i was going to have to drive to maryland and take the beltway around! finally got across the Theodore Roosevelt bridge. could not reach xshub, was concerned about my dad in PA when i heard something had happened there.

Our hot water heater runs off the furnace - so I've kept the heat down in order to be able to have hot water. Unlike hubby - I have no plans of going anywhere or seeing anyone so a shower can wait until this house warms up a bit more!!!

don't blame you. i would not get naked in a freezing cold bathroom, no way!

Thankfully, I went to a Gas Hot water heater when I had the Bathroom Gutted and replaced in August.


Else, I would have been greatly Upset......And Stinky..lol

I've never lived in a house that used oil for heat...... I'm sure I would forget to have it filled if I did!

We have one kerosene and one electric heater that have been in use since saturday.

This is the first time either of have ever had to deal with oil, so ingnorance is my excuse!!!

And yes, thank goodness they are coming today.

There is still enough oil in the tank for heating water for showers - but like XS I have no desire to deal with a cold bathroom.

Yes. And on more than a few occasions, I've seen a few of them literally running/jogging with deadly serious intense looks on their faces.

-I open the bathroom window wide for showers, even on the coldest mornings. -love it! Hot shower, cool air -- I am AWAKE!

I refuse to let those a-holes intimidate me. Even back on that awful morning, I resolved to not let me scare me. After the first tower collapsed and before the second one did, I made a silent vow that if there was anything to come back to down here, I'd be here.

While I'm always alert and cautious by nature, I also like to do things such as what I'm going to do this afternoon -- as soon as there's another hysteria-inducing terror alert, I head uptown to Rockefeller Center, this time to see the big tree. :)

I have taken the middle son in to see the tree. I love the angels, store windows, everything. Had to do it all in one day though. Awesome sight. The big toy store, St. Pat's -- I loved it all....
