More than anything else, that is what al qaeda's stated intentions are; they want to destroy America and the easiest way to do that is to take away its economic power. Rather than kill or maim many people, dirty bombs would wreak havoc with the economy by shutting down an area of a city or an entire city.

Probably because I'm sleep-walkin' by now, but it occurs that there is a scenario that would cause economic fall-out, need for "them" to evacuate, and create a great deal of fear..... that would be some sort of biological dispersion.
Now that we are heading into the season of jingle bills and bellies, it would make sense that this might be the most likely choice.
At the risk of taking a HUGE leap into tinfoil time, it is rather odd that in the last week there has been a state which has been slammed with a MAJOR "flu" (perhaps test) epidemic. According to the CDC, Texas has....for no good reason.... shown an astounding increase/outbreak in illness that has "eclipsed" (bad pun), the rest of the nation.
Granted, it sounds like a not so novel plot....BUT......

Im not saying terrorist attacks arent deadly, I am saying the threat of them is far more effective than the attack itself.
These people, terrorists, cant conceive a nation as big as ours is with as much resources as we have. These weapons are made to cause panic, terror, and to demoralize. If we dont run around like sheep they wont use this stuff after they find out its no fun. The government is going nuts over this stuff because they have to protect every inch of America. Youve only gotta protect yourself, and by doing that, you help the country.
