"Just one more thing." It's probably not at all important but Lt. Columbo does have just one more question for you. Of course, he is not making any accusations. It is just a minor matter that he wants to get cleared up in his mind. Nothing really of concern.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

FUN FACT: The premise for Columbo came directly from Fyodor Dostoevsky’s "Crime and Punishment."

You know, my boss... he’s a stickler, wants every loose end tied up.

If the dude lawyered up and isn’t talking or won’t take a lie detector, they already know.

I sure hope that the locals have been segregating all the garbage from dumpsters and cans from the main pile since she was reported missing. That could make her easier to find.

But I’m surprised they haven’t done any search party work since the initial report. She could be vulture food off some skinny dirt road.

“or won’t take a lie detector.”

There is a not an insignificant percentage of innocent people who, either due to nervousness or fear, fail a polygraph. Pathological liars can, I’ve been told, pass one when guilty. Then there is operator error, leading, or surprise questions, and other things.

If I were accused of committing a crime, I’d refuse a polygraph. Let them prove me guilty, or at least charge me without getting an induced, false confession.

I understand and appreciate your points but this is a relative.

There are all kinds of people but I find it hard to believe someone with a close relative missing wouldn’t do the right thing, understanding the quite small likelihood that they would be caught up in a false guilty mark on a lie detector test

Cold blooded murderers will pass a polygraph. They aren’t the least bit sorry or feel the slightest remorse. There is a reason the polygraphs are inadmissible in court. Completely unreliable.

Porfiry Petrovich. I just finished readin "C & P" for the 3rd time. I LOVE that book! And although I never saw the words in print before, I KNEW that Columbo was based on him. (Just like the Police Detective i "The Fugitive" was fashioned after Inspector Javert in Les Miserables")

I just ordered it on Audible. I remember reading it years ago so now I plan on listening to it.

Enjoy!

The Characters are so well drawn.

I hope you get a good narrator on your audio book.

I say I’m like Columbo at my job! One of the greatest TV shows of all time. Still love it to the max! Just love how he gets the better of those high & mighty people, every single time.

Gotta watch me some Columbo this weekend, for sure!
