“But he doesn’t blame Islam. “Yes, it was carried out by Islamic terrorists,” he says. “But there are extremists who are Catholics and Jesuits. In almost all groups there are some who are more extreme than others.””
He’s right in principle, but here’s where it differs in a couple of hypothetical conversations. In both cases we have a terrorist who wants to take out a bunch of people, but needs help, so he’s trying to recruit people who may be like-minded. Also, in BOTH cases, most people responding will not want to help.
(in a mosque)
TERRORIST: “Hi Ickbar, might you be interested in helping me mow down the Infidel at Central Cafe, in New York City.”
ICKBAR: “No Sorry, I have exams next month and my father wants me to go to college.”
(end of story, and the Terrorist goes to the next person)
(in a church)
TERRORIST: “Hi Michael, might you be interested in helping me mow down the non-believers at Central Cafe, in New York City.”
MICHAEL: “No Sorry, I have exams next month and my father wants me to go to college.”
(short time later)
MICHAEL: “Hello, FBI, a guy in my church wants me to help him kill a bunch of people, his name is...”
Note the subtle difference above - it’s cultural, the cause (Islam) is even more important to Icbar than human life, so he chooses to protect the cause. That’s why organized terrorism doesn’t happen with our side.
No amount of violence and predation will bring the liberals to their senses. People are no longer mugged into conservatism.
