The “cost” of smuggling has to be going up considerably.
Meaning that you have to be in a pretty desperate situation to be the operator of one of these vessels now that we are blowing them up regularly.

In my opinion, this is not a good thing. Nuanced or not. I do not like the idea of a military that goes around killing people and sinking boats suspected of "narco terrorism", it stinks of something a fascist dictatorship would do.
