Okay, Doomers: MSNBC Prophesizes Trump Economy Heading for Great 1929 Crash
NewsBusters ^ | 10/30/2025 | Joseph Vazquez

Despite all the media pseudo savants’s end-of-the-world predictions about the Trump economy falling flat on their faces, MSNBC is still out there banging pots and pans over an incoming Great Depression-era crash.

MSNBC The 11th Hour host and economic dunce Stephanie Ruhle brought on CNBC Squawk Box co-anchor Andrew Ross Sorkin October 29 to hawk his new book 1929: Inside the Greatest Crash in Wall Street History--and How It Shattered a Nation.

The book served as a pretext for Ruhle to get Sorkin to draw parallels between the speculative market euphoria of the 1920s before the disastrous October 29, 1929, “Black Tuesday” crash and the current roaring stock market under President Donald Trump. “Today, the parallels between what was happening then and what’s happening now is quite remarkable.” Ruhle giddily urged Sorkin to his Armageddon scare-porn: “Explain because we all forget history.”

Ruhle’s segment was dubbed: “Shadows of 1929: Is the Trump economy on track for a crash?” Oh barf.

MSNBC had enough trouble trying to ridiculously connect Trump to Hitler in 1933. Apparently that didn’t work so they had to go back a few more years to the crazy speculators of 1929. Talk about flinging spaghetti at the wall and hoping something sticks. This is just as nutty as when CNBC Mad Money host Jim Cramer implied a 1987-style “Black Monday” crash was on the immediate horizon back in April due to Trump’s tariff agenda, which, of course, never panned out, because Cramer is routinely wrong.

“They really DO want the USA to collapse.”

Positively yes. That’s one of two ways they can successfully take over. If we get into a 1930’s type depression people will be desperately seeking a way out of it. Communism will be seen as the answer, even though it fails whenever tried.

And if the people don’t fall for it, then armed conflict will do it.

Its hilarious. According to the media….For almost ten years everyone has been “playing” Trump but he is the only President Ive seen successfully operate the fedgov as business not a charity. In a year the pledged investments will have began to pay off, more illegals and useless govt workers wont be weighing on the taxpayers, wages should continue to rise , not because of inflation but bc of eliminating cheap illegal labor. If the market crashes it wont be because of Trump. Its because the markets are overvalued…. You can blame the billionaires who run funds for that. The markets are at all time highs….. are they giving Trump the credit? Nah but he will get the blame when the eventual haircut comes…. recession?…. That ship has sailed…. Along with racism and fascism… chicken little media has neutered the terms with overusage (and of course always being wrong).

Explain why please? I mean this entire article did nothing to actually make the point. Maybe you meant a correction? Like what routinely happens when stocks vault to new highs over an extended period of time?

Are you one of those horrible folks who cheer high inflation? Low GDP? High unemployment? Stock market turmoil?

No wonder why youre so miserable😂

The Stock Market values matter not as it is artificially inflated and has been for a long time. What goes on on Main Street do matter and Main Street is having a hard time of it as the Working Class is not feeling the Trump love... Trump is losing the working class and polls from Conservative polling prove that out. When up and coming generations can’t afford to buy starter homes that proves things are not so rosy.

According to the socialist’s smartest economist Paul Krugman, the results of election night 2016 was going to crash the US stock market and economy worse than ever before. He kept making the same prediction for the next 4 years.

Lol there is almost nothing factual in your post and you failed to explain the impending “crash”. The stock market is supply and demand. A stock is always worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Simple. Is it manipulated? Of course…. But at the end of the day its just billionaires reshuffling the deck…while your 401k skyrockets.

Anyone thats followed stocks understands the market rises and falls sometimes dramatically…. But unfortunately folks like you are wrong so often…. Its hard to take you seriously…. Even when you might have a valid point…. See?

And yet when the time comes that 401k is near worthless...Even Dave Ramsey and Warren Buffet stated recently these 401k will peter out way sooner than most expect...

But there have numerous crashes over the years and if you didnt panic and sell its worth more than ever😂😂😂😂

You folks are always wrong….. Americans can quite literally bank on it.

The real crisis is the national debt not the stock market silly and thats certainly a congressional issue not a Trump issue.

Winds up being a Trump issue by default as we have a do nothing Congress as Congress is worthless and ineffective and has been for many years.
