On behalf of tens of millions of people outside Washington, let me assure you, Gene: we're not infuriated, although many might be mildly amused by your hyperbole.

I live 1200 miles from DC. I see it as something the white House probably needs after 200 years or so. How come libs suddenly get so nostalgic? Well, we know good and well that they’re not about making things better. They’re all about grabbing power, and making things utterly miserable for ordinary Americans, the people they despise most of all.
We are getting a stunning ballroom that matches the aesthetics of the White House, at no taxpayer cost. In the end a perfect place to host visiting dignitaries, heads of state in perfect comfort with state of the art security. What’s not to love? I’m thrilled!
Oh yeah, its not Clinton or Obama constructing.....

Trump should demolish the rest of the Whitehouse in 2028 while operating the remainder of his term from Florida and force the next President to have to wait for the completion of a new Whitehouse to be re-named The Trump house.

Yeah, it’s just appalling when the wealthy give away millions for a public project, helping construction workers feed their own families.

I haven’t heard anyone in flyover country giving a rats posterior about the project other than the whining liberal Karen’s who are having a fit about whatever Trump does. The project costs the taxpayers nothing and isn’t touching the historic parts of the White House. Harry Truman literally gutted the entire interior of the historic White House to make desperately needed structural repairs. It’s about time that heads of state visiting the White House aren’t being entertained in a tent.
