Virginia Lt. Gov Winsome Earle-Sears is continuing to ask President Donald Trump to back her bid in the high-stakes Virginia governor’s race — but the president, as of now, is refusing to endorse her. Earle-Sears has met with Trump in the Oval Office at least once to discuss her challenging campaign, and her team has coordinated daily with the White House’s political operation for months, according to sources familiar with the conversations who spoke with Bloomberg Government. The former House member [Abigail Spanberger] has specifically focused her message on blaming Trump — and Earle-Sears by association — for defunding education in Virginia, as well as DOGE cuts that devastated federal workers who reside in the state. In a statement to Bloomberg Government, Earle-Sears said she “would be honored to have President Trump’s endorsement,” but did not elaborate on the delay or state of the race. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt sidestepped a question on Tuesday on whether Trump would endorse Earle-Sears, saying she left political endorsements up to the president. The White House did not respond to a request for comment on Earle-Sears’ meeting with Trump.

Today I ask you to join me to announce to the world that we have achieved the dream of brother king. That blacks in the United States are free and unhindered to achieve any dream they so desire. The need for reparations are over and the only limitations placed on ourselves are those we impose on ourselves through claims of victim hood. I ask you to elect me the first black governor of the capital of the confederacy. By electing me you declare to the world that America stands for freedom, and equality, and that all our citizens have the inalienable right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
My fellow Virginians let us not pass up this opportunity to demonstrate we are a good people. A kind people and a great people.
Thank you everyone I will perform my duties with full diligence and respecting the rights of every individual regardless of class color or state of life. May God bless the commonwealth of Virginia
One little nit pick - she would not be the first black governor of the capital of the confederacy. That would be Douglas Wilder back in the 80s.
She is pretty solid right? But for dissing Trump a few years back is she a good option for endorsement by him?
Correct-he was a Democrat. But Sears would be the first black woman, and I think even first woman regardless but that’s irrelevant since she is running against a woman.
“His” is a “Her” and she has spoken out loudly against the trans freaks playing in women;’s sports...
I am so hoping she wins!
Me too, but the left us galvanized and are already measuring the drapes in the Governors mansion.
You are correct, however, she would become the first Black woman to be the governor of any state in the history of the U.S.
Spanberger is on the wrong side of all the 80-20 issues. On numerous occasions, she’s been asked about these issues by the media and blatantly sidestepped the questions. Sears is calling her out for answers, but a megaphone from DJT could really open indifferent voter’s eyes.
True!
That is true!
Won’t someone please think of the poor devastated federal workers.
I'd be cautious with a speech like this.
Winsome Sears was born in Jamaica and moved to the Bronx in New York City when she was six. She moved to Virginia when she was 22 after serving in the Marine Corp.
Her ties to slavery are tenuous.

Where’s the like button? lol— LOVE IT!
Did you guys know that Winsome is a twin? The other one is named Losesome.
I’ll show myself out.
😂
