TAMPA, Fla. — During a press conference on Thursday in Tampa alongside Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister who announced the dismantling of a diesel theft ring, Attorney General James Uthmeier announced legal action tied to a separate case involving a fatal semi-truck crash “caused by an illegal alien licensed in another state,” according to a release from the AG’s office.
Ulthmeier said his office has issued a criminal subpoena to the Ceres, California-based company White Hawk Carriers, who is the employer of Harjinder Singh.
Ulthmeier said his office also issued legal demands to California and Washington for their role in issuing the commercial driver’s license, according to a press release from the Florida AG’s office.
Uthmeir also announced on Aug. 25 that Florida’s agricultural law enforcement and state police are now using the state’s agricultural inspection stations (also known as interdiction stations) as “strongholds of immigration enforcement.”
“States like California and Washington ignored the rules, gave an illegal alien a license to drive a 40-ton truck, and three people are dead as a result. (This was a) preventable tragedy due to sanctuary state policies,” Uthmeier said.

Message: The gubmint should check trucker competency at the US/Canada border crossings. Sikhs have a lock on trucker licenses in Canada. I live in Washington and see the Canadian-licensed truckers crossing the border almost all wear the unmistakable turban.
Call:
Congress (202) 224-3121
DOJ Main Switchboard 202-514-2000
Message: Station ICE people at every weigh station and inspection station; commercial drivers who can’t speak English gets grabbed, and his truck impounded. Companies will decide that “cheap” illegals are too expensive. It’s impossible that the company who hired Singh didn’t notice the guy spoke no English.
I agree, and I don’t understand why they’re not going after the people that hire them.
GREAT!

Blush
The momentum is strong.
I hope this proceeds with vigor.
Your description is slightly inaccurate. Singh obtained a full-term CDL from the State of Washington, even though it was illegal for them to issue it. He then swapped the Washington CDL for a California CDL. New Mexico came into the picture when they pulled Singh for speeding and failed to give him an English proficiency test as required by law.
I agree that FL and the DOT should take swift and strong action. If I had the say, I’d immediately rescind CDL issuance and renewal rights for those three States. Ideally, CDL holders from those States would be barred from operating commercial vehicles on Interstate highways nationwide.
NOT SURE THE PAYOFF IS AT THE DMV.
I SUSPECT IT IS HAPPENING AT THE “”DRIVING SCHOOLS”.

She is very unlikeable. Not well received here. We’re hoping Ron is the president of the New Southern States.
Imprison the CEO of the company who hired him for life. USC 8 1324 provides life imprisonment not only for the illegal but the employer who hired him along with the landlord that housed him if found guilty.
