Riiiight, where ya gonna use it, most of the people that by these are old men who. barely drive the speed limit, or morons who think they are Speed Racer and floor it, lose control and totally destroy it. Aside from some rural areas where can you use the speed they are capable of?
I can’t think of anywhere someone needs that kind of speed. I would admire such a car, but no way I would even test drive it.
Nevada?
I just want to hop in that thing at the Florida/Georgia state line, put “Whole Lotta Love” on infinite replay, point it South, and see if I can make it into the history books before Johnny Law catches me.
Aside from some rural areas where can you use the speed they are capable of?
It was a blast!
Yep. I have a BMW M3 E93 (V8 convertible version). It gets criticized for being ‘heavier’ with the hard top convertible, so ‘slower’. Ok. It has more than enough (420hp) for me on the roads and I’m never going to track it. So why not enjoy the sun and wind?!!?!
Some of these cars have really impressive NUMBERS but they’re becoming a diminishing factor in the purchasing decision. Just how fast is a 0-60 time worth? Now under 2s? How much lower could we possibly go? Can you even experience it? We’re at a point where horsepower isn’t a problem and neither is the road performance. For me, it’s other factors now - e.g. convertible and fuel efficiency.
“...most of the people that by these are old men who. barely drive the speed limit...”
And the rest of them are people who don’t know how to drive one and are going to be dead.

Reminds me of the time I was at an interstate rest stop, and all these old dudes in shorts, polo shirts (straining), and mostly white New Balance walkers came into the restroom and lined up.
The mystery was solved when I walked out and saw the dozen+ Corvettes lined up in the parking area, with more coming in.
That was the day I swore I’d never own a Corvette or New Balance shoes.

Reminds me when I use to live on Oahu. My client loaned me a really fancy, and fast, Porche. The guys in the office asked “how fast have you gotten that thing?”
They were not impressed when I said “35 miles per hour”
Anyone who knows Oahu knows that’s about all you can do on that island.
100% correct. Where we live AZ we have 60 yo white men driving CVs - with the roof down -- at 45 mph in 65 mph zones.
