The DNC’s Rules Committee on Friday made the case for proceeding with Joe Biden’s virtual nomination while also outlining next steps in the process and how virtual roll call voting would work despite rumors of Biden dropping out, ABC News reported.
In a letter distributed to other members of the rules committee on Wednesday morning and signed by Leah Daughtry and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, co-chairs of the Democratic National Convention Rules Committee, the committee declared its intent to “propose a framework for the best path forward” in their upcoming Friday meeting.
Of course, this sudden new rule is being implemented to prevent any embarrassing displays by states or delegates during the nomination process.
Now the process will be held virtually – how democratic!
However, the letter also clarified that the adoption of any rules would be deferred until its next meeting, scheduled for July 26.
The Democratic National Convention is scheduled from August 19 to 22 in Chicago.
The current proposal indicates that the virtual roll call voting will commence in the first week of August. According to party officials, the virtual voting process is slated to begin no earlier than August 1 and conclude by August 7.
However, the official start date remains pending until the DNC approves the proposed rules package. The presidential and vice-presidential acceptance speeches will still occur in person.

I bet they would like a virtual roll call in November. As a back-up, a virtual roll call of the electoral college should do nicely.
Democratic delegates are going to have to get creative—and have a virtual riot.
A virtual roll call also has the benefit of being covid compliant. :-) What’s not to like?

Does Joe get nominated virtually in advance of the convention and then decline the nomination at the convention in hopes of controlling who runs for President, or
Does Joe get nominated in advance of the convention and then refuse to drop off the ticket, or
Does Joe drop out in advance of the virtual nomination leaving the field open to whoever the rats want to propose?
This is all very mysterious to me.
I think there is a far more dangerous path for them than displaying Joe...going into Chicago and trying to hold a liberal event when it has been the libs the Chicago people have been bad mouthing for giving immigrants property and money over the city residents. It isn’t a matter of Joe looking like Joe does. It’s about the entire DNC looking like they do and being hammered for it publically. There will be street riots and shootings which is normal for Chicago. Only this time, the RNC will be right in the middle of it.

Think of all the super-delegates— the ones that matter not the “pledged” from the one candidate “primary” state delegates- the SUPER delegates. Their vote is 3 or 4 times weighted against regular delegates.
They are being called by schumer and pelousi— to suspend and do it in writing. Willing to more than bet this is being done. So- no “virtual” roll call will have any— ANY impact. This is all media window dressing. demonrats are NOT even a “democracy” they are a mob ruled by super tyrants- like a Politburo. Same structure.
