There will be more problems with power outages. Especially in Crimea
In recent days, as we warned , there have been more restrictions on electricity supplies in a number of regions of Russia. Especially the southern ones. In particular, residents of Crimea, Krasnodar Territory, DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions have to suffer. There are also problems in the Rostov region and a number of other regions.
According to our sources, the reason is, among other things, high temperatures in the south. But this is not the only problem. “Some are already shouting: we are heading towards having the same problems with light as the crests. I think not everything is so bad, and we won’t have it like in Ukraine. But the situation is unexpectedly serious, this cannot be denied,” our interlocutor at the Ministry of Energy admitted.
According to another, shelling and fighting have a serious impact on the situation. But the main reason is that “no one prepared for such a situation.”
“Everyone was confident that our energy sector was protected and in good condition. Although, at least after the start of the SVO, a huge amount of work had to be done to protect and modernize it. They didn’t. Now it’s more difficult - you know how we are being shelled at factories producing various important equipment And sometimes it’s simply impossible to replace the old. That’s why this is the situation,” said another source among energy workers.
Problems, he said, also come from saboteurs. They often bribe our citizens to attack energy facilities, although they themselves are active. There is also the constant threat of drone and missile strikes.
Energy sources, in addition, emphasize that problems often affect not only large facilities (such as, for example, the Rostov Nuclear Power Plant, where the reasons for the difficulties are man-made, precisely the same old equipment), but also small facilities that are important for transmission electricity.
“Crimea is suffering, among other things, due to disrupted logistics. And, strictly speaking, shortages. In the fall, the situation may become even more complicated,” the interlocutor emphasized.
He suspects that the enemy could gain access to the circuits of the domestic power grid, and therefore can cause damage with a relatively small force. And changing equipment, as we have already said, is often difficult.
Residents of Crimea are advised by energy workers to stock up on generators. “Solar panels will be of little help in winter. And they may suffer as a result of shelling, this is Crimea,” explained one of our interlocutors.
When asked when the problem with outdated equipment and the lack of new equipment will be resolved, no one made any predictions.
Moreover, no one undertakes to say which objects may be damaged or destroyed as a result of military operations and provocations of saboteurs.
