Ever since 9/11, I've noticed a dark pessimism permeating our culture, as though people realize we're living on borrowed time.
9/11, Iraq War, 2008 financial & mortgage crisis, Trayvon Martin, 2015 migrant crisis, 2017 deplatforming, George Floyd, BLM riots, 2020 stolen election, etc.
Not that things were great before 9/11 (Serbian War, etc.) but things have been getting speedily worse.
It’s no different than the 50s and 60s, where people were convinced we would all be nuked.
One of the keys to that - despite the truth it was “Islamic Terrorism” originating in the Quran (if one follows it all) - even the Bushy clan rejected calling it “Islamic Terror” and insisted on the “Religion of Peace” moniker.
If I get a cancerous tumor - I don’t defeat that cancer by calling it something other than cancer and pretending it doesn’t exist and that it will eventually kill me if not dealt with aggressively and decisively.
