More days than not, the Biden administration leaves you shaking your head in exasperation as they deliver one terrible decision after another. On Wednesday, however, they actually announced a good decision—let's build a wall to help solve the disastrous, self-created border crisis.
A wall! What a great idea. Too bad nobody ever thought of that before. Or maybe someone once did...?
Here's the newest plan, as announced by Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas:
The Biden administration announced they waived 26 federal laws in South Texas to allow border wall construction on Wednesday, marking the administration’s first use of a sweeping executive power employed often during the Trump presidency.
The Department of Homeland Security posted the announcement on the U.S. Federal Registry with few details outlining the construction in Starr County, Texas, which is part of a busy Border Patrol sector seeing “high illegal entry.” According to government data, about 245,000 illegal entries have been recorded in this region during the current fiscal year.
BREAKING: The Biden administration says there is an “immediate need” to wave regulations and build a border wall as the migrant crisis spirals out of control.
Remarkable. 4 years ago this was “racist.” Now they’re advocating for it.
"There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas pursuant to sections 102(a) and 102(b) of [the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996]," Mayorkas said in an announcement.Gee, maybe they shouldn’t have sold all the border wall parts. pic.twitter.com/OREJNUkWcl— Collin Rugg (@CollinRugg) October 5, 2023
Not only is it ironic that Biden is building a wall after putting an end to former President Donald Trump's efforts to put one up, but he's waiving 26 environmental laws—including the Clean Air Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, and the Endangered Species Act—to do so. This is the same man who continually lectures us about environmental issues and climate change.
Mayorkas warned the situation has grown dire:
"There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas,” Mr. Mayorkas said in an official filing in the Federal Register. “In order to ensure the expeditious construction of the barriers and roads in the project areas, I have determined that it is necessary that I exercise the authority that is vested in me by section 102(c) of IIRIRA."
Note that the "acute and immediate need" is happening under his and Joe Biden's watch. In fact, the president has seemingly welcomed the unprecedented surge in illegal immigrants and paved the way for the human tsunami with decisions like this:
BIDEN (2020): "There will not be another foot of wall constructed in my administration!"
Today, Biden's DHS secretary declared an "immediate need" to build 20+ miles of border wall in Texas. pic.twitter.com/QvB1aC30C1— RNC Research (@RNCResearch) October 4, 2023
The administration had put a halt to new border wall construction in early 2021, after then-candidate Biden had promised there would be "not another foot of wall constructed during my administration." The administration said that wall construction under the Trump administration was "just one example of the prior Administration’s misplaced priorities and failure to manage migration in a safe, orderly, and humane way."
Anyone who has been paying attention knows that there's nothing "safe, orderly, and humane" happening on the Rio Grande.

You knew Donald Trump would have something to say about this apparent embarrassing about-face by Biden and Co., and he didn't disappoint:
"President Trump is always right," the Trump campaign said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "That’s why he built close to 500 miles of powerful new wall on the border and it would have been finished by now. Instead, Crooked Joe Biden turned our country into one giant sanctuary for dangerous criminal aliens."
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) needed only two words to sum up the situation:

Illegal alien criminals are dying in the desert breaking into my country.
And this is a bad thing?
The cows are all escaped from the barn so let’s get that barn door closed now!
So THAT’S what Build Back Better means. Tear down the wall that Trump built and 4 years later build another one in time for the next election.
Naval blockade of the Rio Grande, a Maginot Line formed all along our southern border while the the wall is being built.

So now the Bidementia administration is FOR a border wall?
Suddenly 26 laws and regulations are waived so that money sequestered since 2019 can be spent to build a wall in the RGV?
What about the poor souls that would be so oppressed when it was a Trump administration that was building a wall?
But no, the polls indicate that the headlines about a wall will help their poll numbers in other states, so it gets passed.

Blessings, and stay dry!
I just watched another video of a community meeting in Chicago with people riled up, rightly so, over turning their park into a migrant center.
Announcing and actually building are two unrelated events.
Twenty miles. TWENTY MILES! TWENTY FRIGGIN MILES!!!!
Here’s a little pat on the head and a juice box, little Joey. You do wonderful work. /spit/
EC
3 years late to the game.
This is all BS. The dims will not build any more wall.
It’s all for show.
Unfortunately, I strongly suspect that this is nothing more than election ploy. The Biden regime may hire contractors, etc., but make no real effort, while claiming to be "solving the crisis".
Even if they built a 3,000 mile wall on the southern border, Mayorkas would let them all in, and the border patrol would still be busy with sanctuary papers. The cartels will keep doing the same things they are doing now.
Will be known as Biden’s Border Wall and will be a ribbon cutting ceremony going election year. It will be announced that Trump and Republicans held up the funding and the stupid people of America will believe it.
As long as the cartels are bribing the swamp, nothing will change. Only the decorations.
A very important tactic to be aware of! For decades the dems, and now the RINOs, have made this claim: that if we pass "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" (TM) they will start defending the border. They promised that deal (with a different name) to Reagan, he said OK, and then they reneged. And when congress doesn't give them what they want, that's what they will blame for "not solving the problem."
Yes and only 20 miles of it carrot on a stick waving for voters.
Why does that work?
Because democrat goons and liars CAN THEN go back to their precincts and say, "I voted to close the border" - and it's true. But they only funded the part of immigration reform deal that helped illegals stay in the country - not the part that secured the border. Wash, rinse repeat...
And because 'the press' is the corrupt propaganda arm of the democrat party. The bimbos and idiot men at CNN don't tell their viewers the truth - then over and over and over again 'comprehensive immigration reform' scams a new generation... Same with the democrat's butt boys at the New York Times and Washington Post. Their editors know the truth but stay silent so they don't lose their 'intelligence leakers' - incentivized police state crap.
"Fixed fortifications are monuments to the stupidity of man." - Patton
Build a wall, you say. Gee, if only some firebrand suggested the same thing in, say, 2016...
