Norma Shearer died on this date 40 years ago in 1983.
She was the first 5-time Oscar acting nominee.
"An adventure" she said, "maybe worn as a muddy spot or worn as a proud insignia. It is the woman wearing it who makes it the one thing or the other."
and
"Being a motion picture actress is the pitch of ecstasy."

Loved her in The Women. She appeared in some rather risque movies in the pre-code days. She had a some what famous brother named Douglas Shearer. He did sound. If you watch movies from the thirties and forties his name seems to appear in about half the film credits of the era.
She was a hottie 🔥
Google her pics from the 20s and 30s. Smoking hot 🔥
Google?! I'm surprised your FR account didn't spontaneously explode with that suggestion here.
Norma Shearer was the babe who married the boss, and by all accounts it was a love match for both of them. https://www.classicmoviefavorites.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Shearer-Thalberg-08.jpg https://www.classicmoviefavorites.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Shearer-Thalberg-06.jpg My two favorite Norma Shearer films are “Lady of the Night”(1925), and “A Free Soul”(1931), both scripted by Adela Rogers St Johns.
She was popular with the guys.
