The people who insist on getting offended and upset by everything are saying that Whoopi Goldberg should be fired for her recent comments about the Holocaust.
I say those people are a bunch of totalitarian idiots.
I support anyone’s right to express their opinion on any subject.
I support Whoopi Goldberg’s right to say what she said about the Holocaust.
And I also support the right of people to say that Goldberg should be fired for her comments about the Holocaust. I disagree with what they say. But I do support their right to say it.
And I also support free speech for people who disagree with me.
I support free speech for everyone.

In the overall scheme of things Whoopi has said, this isn’t bad at all. In fact, there’s a good argument she was right.
The Nazis did try to portray the Jews as a different race, but they aren’t. They’re Caucasian.
Would these same people who think that what Whoopie said is OK be OK if someone said that slavery wasn’t about race, just about how people treat each other?

Having free speech under the Constitution means you won’t go to jail for expressing your opinion.
However, others, have rights as well (for now) and employers have a right to expect respectful behavior from their employees.

The reason her comment about Jews not being a “race” was interpreted as insensitive it that it attempted to diminish the horror that the Jews suffered compared to what blacks suffered under slavery. Hitler certainly thought he was exterminating a “race” which he equated with blacks, gypsies, and Slavic people.
I support Whoopi Goldberg’s right to be an idiot on any topic, and I support everyone’s right to call her an idiot for what she says, and I also support the right of her employer, a private company, to fire her if they choose - in defense of their free speech right extended to what is done with their business property.
Regarding our comment in post 5 - I don’t loathe anyone. I do support free speech for everyone. And I don’t get upset when people say things that are controversial.
