Bowl Season is here.
This year’s bowl season includes 42 games between FBS teams. A total of 84 bowl-eligible schools will participate in the postseason.
The College Football Playoff championship game is Jan. 10 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The semifinals are Dec. 31 at the Capital One Orange Bowl and Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. The NCAA approved one last bowl game this week so all teams could participate.
Sporting News will track those selections Sunday:

I hope Cincinnati loses by 35. They played nobody.
There are a lot of bowls to be announced today. What time will it begin?
I hate the way all the good games are broadcast on cable (ESPN) now.
Excellent Post. Thanks.
Like the Playoff matchups.
From this Buckeye....I say.... Go Blue.😉
The Fenway Bowl? At Fenway Park? Not familiar with that one.
Also not familiar with so many of the games having corporate sponsors nowadays. Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl?
Bowl selections @ 6:00 pm PST according to ESPN
I think they’ve already started. Bama (1) vs Cincinnati (4). Michigan (2) vs Georgia (3).
So Bama vs GA for the National Championship...
Nope, as a Buckeye fan, still can’t root for Michigan.
Some years down the road, they may move these games to streaming services. The way so many people are cutting cable cords, these big events may bypass broadcast and cable channels entirely in the future.
The corporate sponsors change so quickly, just like the stadium corporate sponsors. You barely have time to get used to a name and it changes. I still recall the new “AT&T Park” in San Francisco.
ESPN SUCKS!
I would want to be playing on one of the teams in the Bahamas Bowl. Not a bad place to spend part of your holiday season!
Most likely. Assuming Georgia doesNt just fold tents
Nana will be number one again this year
When I was a kid, I think there were about seven or eight bowl games: Rose, Cotton, Orange, Sugar, Liberty, and two or three others. I can see expanding that to ten or twelve, but thirty or forty is ridiculous. Give the top 20 a bowl (plus some wiggle-room for teams ranked differently in different polls), and leave it at that.
Here are the averages:
When is the DC Ty-D-Bowl being played?
I believe the Blue Bonnet Bowl too back in the day.
