Don’t forget that Shingrix is a two-dose vaccine. You most definitely want to avoid shingles!

Had shingles twice. Not fun. I want to get the doses because I don’t want them on my face or eyes.

Mine came out after stressful circumstances.

I got shingles back when I was about 40. Very nasty stuff - and you can get it more than once. Then a shingles vaccine came out. I went down to my local pharmacy to get the shot. The pharmacist said my insurance wouldn’t cover it (I was too young at the time). So I’d have to pay $120.

Don’t care, says I. Give me the shot.

I got my flu shot in November, but my doctor advised against the shingles vaccine at this time because it causes a fever for awhile. Since my temperature is taken every day at work, and they take it if you enter a medical facility; I would have had to self-quarantine until the fever passed.

Why hesitate? From what I've heard, shingles is painful.

Silver Biotics (gel and liquid). Watch out for price gouging! Sellers and perhaps manufacturers are taking advantage of the times we find ourselves in. I as well as family and friends wouldn’t be caught without many of the products including the lozenges.

Painful indeed. I’ve had three outbreaks in the last 30 years. Received the original shingles (single shot) vaccine a while back and got the first jab of Shingrix last month.

Maybe 1 day with a low grade fever. If that. I’ve had the one dose version in the past and more recently the 2 dose. No fever to speak of. You need to get it.

I had Shingrix #2 and Pneumovax last fall, same time, same arm. A lot of soreness and tenderness at the injection site, but no fever.

Shingles is awful. I’d get the shot if I were you and, if needed, take a day off from work. If you get a fever it will pass quickly.

I don’t know if this is accurate, but I found it interesting anyway:

Why hesitate? From what I've heard, shingles is painful.

I've had singles about 25 years ago. Yes, it was very painful. My doctor wanted me to take the Shingrix vaccine last fall. As soon as the needle cleared my skin, I began to feel heat in my upper lip. Then the lining of my nose. Then my throat started to close up. I croaked out, "Benedryl" to the pharmacist (it was a local CVS) and the pharmacist handed me a Benedryl and some water. About 20 minutes later, I was OK, thank G-d. Between pain and anaphylactic shock, I'll take pain. This is why I do not intend to take any COVID vaccines.

Oh no...I feel for you. Had a patch on my lower back about the size of a golf ball. I was miserable.

I’m one shot into the two shot regimen.

I had shingles about 25 years ago. I’ve been taking L-Lysine 1000 mg every day and since Covid I take zinc supplements and elderberry.

I had shingles about ten years ago, and continued to feel pain in that area for about 4-5 years after.

I would love to get the shingles vaccine, but when I tried to get it, I could not because I was undergoing radiation for cancer treatment. That was two years ago. I visited an oncologist on Monday, I should have asked her if I can receive a live vaccine now. Because I really don’t want to get shingles again.

At least I can get the flu vaccine. It’s a killed vaccine. I want to get the Covid-19 vaccine ASAP, too.
