A sub-compact .45 almost seems too good to be true, but Glock listened to the market and released the Glock 30, a concealable pistol with a big bang.
Many believe the 30 is the top contender for the modern concealed carry weapon (CCW) 45. Does Glock’s design hold up to the beefy .45 ACP? Find out in my review of the Glock 30 below.

Springfield Armory did it sooner and better with the XDS. We don’t leave home without them.
Compact, utterly reliable, and more than accurate enough. We got ours for less than $400 each before the madness.

Does it have a manual safety. I love glock but no manual safety makes me worried about carrying with one in the chamber.
To: Onthebrink
10 in the mag, one in the chamber.
Overall length of 6.96 inches, a height of 4.8 inches, and a width of 1.27 inches.

How’s the recoil with these “subcompact” pistols?

It has a grip safety similar to the 1911 but no manual safety.
That’s located between your ears.

In .45 it’s more of a push than a snap like a 9mm or a .40. That’s my impression anyway.

An assault pistol! The Biden Administration will try to ban it.

I think our detectives carry this. Uniform carries a G21. They may have a G30 for a backup weapon.

Not bad, until about the 40th round, then it becomes tiring when shooting targets. When the adrenaline is going, you never notice it.
To: Onthebrink
That’s niice. I’ve carried a Kahr PM45 for 15 years... It is smaller than the 30.

I liked mine so well, I got one in desert sand for my Hunny, a dozen mags and 1,000 rounds in an ammo case. That was 7 years ago, before the current situation. BTW, 13 round Glock 21 mags work fine in a 30.

I’ve carried one for 20 years.
Pull the trigger, and it goes bang. Keep your finger off the trigger, and it won’t go bang. Use a holster which keeps the trigger covered, and you’ll be fine.

In normal times, 45 is readily available and only a couple bucks more than 9mm. Current situation dictates a loan application and the blood of your first born child to purchase either one....if you can find any.
