I have been under bizarre “gag” order issued by Atlanta judge prohibiting me from responding to accusations in lawsuit filed by lawyers with whom I formerly shared office space. Lawsuit used to attack me in left wing rags. Mother Jones, AJC & soon NY Times.

There is nothing “bizarre” about this. American Bar Association model rules (rule 3.6, specifically) prohibit a lawyer from making extrajudicial statements where it has a “substantial likelihood” of prejudicing the proceedings.

Lawsuits are litigated in courts of law, not courts of public opinion. And where one lawyer is constantly in the news, and his every utterance is covered by the media, the judge is well within his rights to issue a gag order to protect the integrity of the legal proceeding.

I don't think that's what the lawsuit said. I think he was threatening one of his fellow lawyers, and he said that he loved the guy's wife and child, so he wasn't going to ruin him. He is also quoted as saying: "“by the time I am through with Taylor Wilson (an associate), he’s going to wish all I had done was **** his wife.”

Quite a bunch of bizarre claims in the lawsuit, most of the references are to voicemails, so I'm sure there are recordings of them:

Wood hasn't denied saying what is in the lawsuit, but he is saying they are taken out of context, made when he was having a difficult time... blah blah.

That is probably all the lawsuit was intended to do. Produce this one gag order. In 4 weeks it would be dropped before the first motions were ever heard, much less before discovery.

I found neither the lawsuit details, nor the gag order. But it looks like the lawsuit is simply a dispute between partners in a law firm. It has nothing to do with legal challenges to the election result.

I don’t know whether the gag order was unilateral. But if it was, there may be justification for it: the other litigants are not in front of TV cameras all day long. Nobody has heard of them.
