Harrison Ford, who has spoken publicly about the perils of climate change, was reportedly seen landing his private plane to pick up his son ahead of Thanksgiving.

The Raiders of the Lost Ark star was snapped disembarking from the plane in the Boston area on Saturday to pick up his son Liam from college for the holiday break, according to a report from the Daily Mail. The actor appeared to disregard the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation that Americans avoid traveling for Thanksgiving due to the coronavirus.

Did he land on an actual runway this time, or pull his old trick of landing on the taxi-way?

My sister and father taught him how to fly helicopters at Bell a long time ago. He owns his own.

Shouldn’t we all just be happy that he managed to land the plane?

That’s a chopper. Pilots side window is open and he’s sitting in the right seat. Notice the seating where his son is?

I'm OK with this. It's better than letting HIM fly his own airplane. Believe me, you don't want this guy flying.

Ford and other celebrities that support climate change are reading a script that was given to them. You wouldn’t Expect Ford to be a real archeologist after watching Indiana Jones or DiCaprio be a fur trapper after The Revenant. These people are just playing the role of environmentalist on a different stage. They should always be look at in that light. Take nothing they say as truth any more that you would in the other acting roles they play.

Not to bet picky but....500mph? Maybe descending at full throttle. More like 400 mph, on a really good day without a load and the right sized nozzles.

75% cruise is 464mph, push it to max and you are at 500.

But you would have to be nuts to push that hard since the engine rebuilds are so pricey.

Push the X model to max and you are at 700mph...close to mach 1.

In the recent movie "American Made" they used an old Citation II. It delivered good production value and it was inexpensive to procure.

Tom Cruise, who is a good pilot, flew it a lot during the shoot.

They also used an old Aerostar 601P a lot. They passed it off as an Aerostar 700 but you can see it's a 601P by looking at the engines.

The Aerostar 700 is a hot plane but also has a rep as a widomaker...it's tricky on landing. It was originally designed to be a small jet and was switched to being a 300mph prop twin...has the typical single cockpit door at the pilots seat that a small jet has.

A member of the production crew crashed the plane soon after they wrapped...deaths were involved :-(

Helicopters are piloted from the right seat.

I know what the book says, and then I know what my 3000 hrs flying the C-501, C-551, C-550, S-II and Bravo variants, says.

They may have used both the movie, but the Citation in the picture that you posted, is a Citation V.

The 700 is an Aerostar, made by Piper. I don’t know about the widow-maker part. My experience has been it’s an honest airplane with a high wing loading. It flies pretty good on one engine (personal experience).

Yup, that’s why I said why is he in the right seat if it was a jet as the story said...they used a stock photo and did not know the difference.

The Bravo is a Citation II with larger engines, and it will go a bit faster. Cost more, though.
