Sorry but that’s absurd. You ALREADY have guns drawn on you. YOU DO WHAT THE OFFICERS SAY. By ignoring them and trying to reach into his car for something was an idiotic thing to do, if he grabs a gun then you might have far less than a second to respond.
The bottom line - DO WHAT THE POLICE SAY. That is the problem with an awful lot of these events. There seems to be this narrative that it’s ok to resist...then cops get killed. This is the result. This guy knew guns were on him and he escalated the threat and danger. You’re asking cops to get killed so they don’t make a ‘mistake’. The only mistake here was not following police orders once they believed they were in danger.

Yes. You are absolutely correct in theory. But you must factor in the fact that, when under stress, people often do irrational things.
Read up on the Daniel Shaver case. That poor guy was on his belly crying and begging for his life. He went to hike up his pants and the police shot him to death.
There are, of course, also many sad examples of criminals killing police officers. All Im saying here is this: the phrase just obey the police is easier said than done when youre under great stress. Scratch an itch on your leg and you could get shot to death. It just aint right.
“orders once they believed they were in danger.”
I hope you are not that naive.
