The U.S. death rate for coronavirus is lower than many European countries, yet 38% of American voters think the United States is doing a "worse job" in handling COVID-19 according to a new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen.

Twenty-one percent of voters nationwide (21%) believe the U.S. has handled the coronavirus better than other nations while 38% say worse.

Predictable when I saw all these people hoarding TP... because TV accidentally showed a clip of a guy buying TP during the emergency declaration...

This is scary. I thought I hated people but this is even scarier.

This 38% represents the people who watch CNNMSNBCABCCBSNBCPBS 16 hours a day ... oh, and who read the Drudge Report ... all of which are long-dead as credible sources of news ... or of reality for that matter.

Hmmmm... And I wonder how many of that 38% fall more into the class of “knowing better than to be seen or heard publicly disagreeing with the official narrative of the all-powerful media?”

AntiFA are only ONE of the ‘correct-think’ enforcement-arms, after all...

So....does that mean 62% thinks the US is doing a good job? And that’s bad?

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” -

42% either think we are doing about the same job as the countries cited in the question asked them or they aren’t sure.

The 38% figure is better than I expected.

However, inasmuch as Italy was one of the countries cited and this was the country that got the ball rolling on the lockdowns, I will be sure to let anyone I know who thinks we are doing worse know about the comparative statistics between us and them, as well as the fact that a fair amount of Italy’s problem was localized to an area with Chinese immigrants and a fair amount of our problem is localized to NYC, an area with sundry problems.

US has the third largest population in the world. China and India are 1st and 2nd with neither, allegedly, having significant numbers of covid19 deaths.

when President Trump rightly drew attention to a chart recently showing US was not at the top of covid19 deaths on a per capita basis, it forced the FakeNewsMSM to finally mention this fact. unfortunately, the chart he was given had US in 7th place by leaving out Sweden and Ireland which are 7th and 8th respectively at present (see chart in BBC article below).

the chart he presented was also deaths per 100,000. the numbers would have looked more stark had he been given a “per million” chart.

like most MSM, BBC were more interested in trying to downplay Trump’s use of per capita figures, but some interesting stuff in here re Belgium, the home of the European Union, which rarely gets mentioned by the FakeNewsMSM, which is seemingly only interested in US number of deaths and Sweden’s failure to impose a strict lockdown:

2 May: BBC: Coronavirus: Why so many people are dying in Belgium
By Gavin Lee, BBC News, Brussels
Belgium is the world’s worst affected country when it comes to the coronavirus mortality rate...
President Donald Trump pointed to a graph recently, displaying Belgium at the top and the US in seventh place, as a result of the number of deaths relative to population size...

BUT those figures are “faulty comparisons” that have been “abused”, argues Prof Steven Van Gucht, a Belgian virologist and government spokesman.
“That’s the difference between public health science and political motivation,” he explains. “That’s purely inspired by showing how good you are doing, and it’s wrong. We are actually reporting in a more correct way.”

Belgian officials say they are counting in a way that no other country in the world is currently doing: counting deaths in hospitals and care homes, but including deaths in care homes that are suspected, not confirmed, as Covid-19 cases.
According to Belgium’s latest official figures, out of 7,703 deaths, 53% have been in care homes.
Some 16% of deaths in care homes were tested positive for coronavirus. The rest are suspected.
That means more than 3,500 deaths have been counted as caused by Covid-19, but not confirmed...

Since 18 March all non-essential business has been closed and, apart from emergency workers, people have been asked to stay at home.
Shopping is limited to one person per family. You can leave the house for medical reasons, to walk the dog, or for an hour’s exercise with immediate family, or one other person, while maintaining social distancing of at least 1.5m (5ft).
Belgian police have been enforcing the lockdown, using drones in parks and fines for anyone breaking social distancing rules.
Checkpoints have been set up at the borders with Luxembourg, France and the Netherlands, allowing through only cross-border workers, or those with an urgent reason to enter Belgium.
Some cyclists have been fined after taking a ride into the Netherlands, then being stopped by Belgian police on the way back.

All non-food shops have been closed too, which led to a bizarre incident in the neighbouring towns of Baarle Hertog and Baarle Nassau, where the border line runs through a bargain store called Zeemans.
The Dutch half of the shop is open, but the Belgian half has been taped off, with customers unable to get to the men’s clothing section...

Will Belgium use tracking apps ?
Not in the short term. Taskforce head Philippe De Backer tells me it’s not “feasible” at the moment, so they will concentrate on the laborious system of tracing manually...
Mr De Backer says use of an app requires at least 60% of the nation to take part voluntarily and he believes that is not realistic at the moment.
“I’ve seen reports in Austria where it’s around 9-10%. So that means you need to do 90% of the tracking in another way,” he says.
As Belgium gradually lifts its restrictions, 2,000 so-called “corona detectives” are being hired, to trace people who have been in contact with confirmed or suspected Covid-19 patients...
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-52491210

no mention of how many deaths are counted in US that are “with covid” not because of covid, or how many nursing home deaths have now been counted.

for what it’s worth (nothing), the tiny landlocked country of San Marino (in Italy), pop 33,000, has a per capita death rate of 1,208 per million.

meanwhile, in Australia, I heard a pro-Trump radio talk show host say 2 days in a row this week re covid deaths: “the US is a basket case”.

media is NON-ESSENTIAL. turn it off until their hysteria burns out.
