Hubris was at work here.
Based on past experience, I believe the Clinton/Obama cabal believed that their Fifth Column, known as the MSM, would continue to provide cover for their misdeeds and only report what they wanted to have reported. After all, it had worked for the last nine years.

My prediction is it will be a gruesome massacre. Why? Because one side in this conflict has 8 Trillion bullets & the other side doesn’t know which bathroom to use.
FWIW, I don’t think Barry is, either. But I’d love to find out who’s holding their leashes....

I predict more normal Americans are getting thoroughly fed up with the obstructionists in DC. They are going to run for office in the model of Sarah Palin, housewife. They are going to win in the model of Donald Trump.
Man, isn’t that the truth. This is just such a situation.

Personally, so far I am not very impressed with his coup against Trump. I am very interested that the MSM who adored Mueller 6 months ago and told us how honorable he was are now calling for his resignation, gee what changed?
Mueller could turn this around and end up with a VERY successful investigation...if he would simply morph this into a Hillary investigation (think “things I discovered while looking for other things”). He could do it easily. Heck, he’s tripping over Hillary’s criminal activity even as he searches for non-existent evidence against Trump.
Going after Trump will result in Mueller being a laughing stock. Going after Hillary would leave him hated by the Left...but a hero to history.
In normal times, yes. If we have a truly functioning Dept. of Justice, yes.
We will find out soon whether or not we live in normal times and have a truly functioning DOJ.
