President Trumps first speech to a joint session of Congress had a lot that angered Democrats, but there was at least one powerful moment that left everyone stunned, including his critics.
President Trump recognized the sacrifice of Carryn Owens, the widow of the Navy SEAL that was killed during (the Yemen raid) weeks into his presidency. The applause was the longest of the entire night, and thundered through the chamber.
We are joined tonight by Carryn Owens, Trump said, the widow of U.S. Navy Special Operator Senior Chief William Ryan Owens. Ryan died as he lived a warrior and a hero, battling against terrorism and securing our nation.
The Congress applauded for a long time in her honor.
I just spoke to our great General Mattis just now, Trumpm continued, who reconfirmed that, and I quote, Ryan was a part of a highly successful raid that generated large amounts of vital intelligence that will lead to many more victories in the future against our enemy. Ryans legacy is etched into eternity.

Democrats were reluctant to stand up and applaud. Their heroes are not Navy Seals. They prefer thugs like Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown and traitors like Bowe Bergdahl.
Here are McCain’s accomplishments in the military.

McCain did lose two Navy aircraft while piloting them. One crash was found to be be McCains fault, the other due to an engine failure of undetermined cause.. A third was destroyed on the deck of the carrier USS Forrestal when a missile fired accidentally from another plane hit either the plane next to McCains or, less likely, his own aircraft, triggering a disastrous fire that killed 134 sailors and nearly killed McCain. A fourth plane was lost when he was shot down over North Vietnam on a bombing mission over Hanoi.
A fifth alleged crash turns out to be a misinterpretation of a flight accident that did not result in the loss of the aircraft. McCain admitted to causing that incident through daredevil clowning but returned safely.
They knew they had to. The bile that built up in their systems must have been overwhelming.
She is thinking...
maybe if I close my eyes... I will wake up and this will have been all a horrible nightmare..
ROFL
Man, that nails it but good. A powerful commentary on the mechanics of the dwindling Democrats and their nowhere party.
Rhetorical question: How does one co-exist with such vile people?
Debbie Wasserman and Keith Ellison proving again they are brainless tools to their puppetmaster. That pic is will be shown for years to come.
+1
It was an awkward moment for the Dems, that’s for sure. They don’t have much respect for our military, or law enforcement for that matter.
He’s listening intently - usually he prefers much slower speaking, and where possible, lots of pictures.
This is also his intellectual pose, which for demotards is more important than actually being an intellectual. Just look the part - hell, you could even become President that way.
As for Debbie... The poor lady is sitting there wondering who turned out the lights. All she knows is that it’s dark... and she cannot see.... She’s trying to hide her inner panic knowing that her vision coverage is through Obamacare. Look, I’m told the white dress was supposed to represent the women’s suffragist movement. I think with Debbie there should be an exception for her mental condition. At most she’s about a 20watt bulb.
It must suck to be that ugly.
To the tune of Mcartney/Jackson:
“Mayonnaise and Islamism, living in perfect harmony”
Inside AND out.
I told my wife ... "THIS is what a leading leader looks like ..... as long as HE claps (and his clap was loud right next to the mic), the entire auditorium would follow"
And sure enough, even we, the listening audience could feel the uncomfortableness of that long applause, but Trump stood and smiled and looked at Carryn Owens, and clapped ......... AND SO DID EVERYONE ELSE !
I don't think people realize the history we're blessed to be part of.
"Ryan was a part of a highly successful raid that generated large amounts of vital intelligence that will lead to many more victories in the future against our enemy. Ryans legacy is etched into eternity.
Ack - I can’t stand to look at that woman’s hair. It always looks so dirty, like it hasn’t been washed for weeks.
I look at McCain’s record of “bad luck” and I think of how the Navy treats officers with bad luck when they command ships.
