This is the approach I would take. Being expelled would make them a martyr.
imho - IGNORING them for 8 full years would be the deepest cut.

If Acosta shows up for a White House press conference, seat him at the back of the room. If a different CNN reporter shows up, seat them up front. Won't be long before Acosta loses his White House correspondent position with CNN. Think of all the acrimonious fun times that would cause among the prima donnas back at CNN headquarters.
