New York Times live forecast was high quality. By 7pm I knew Trump might win. By 8pm central time I was gloating. Tv and 538 were crap compared to NYT.

Have to say, NYTimes was the first to call MANY of these states, when the stupid networks hemmed and hawed for hours.
and their “95% likelihood of winning” meters were pretty much on.
Their real-time graphic displays were actually pretty cool. I also remember from back in the Primary, which seems like about 5 years ago, they had a pretty cool display of results coming in on a State’s map.
When McDonald's is closed
It has kinda stalled out in the end game, though. Inconsistent mapping (one version shows NH red, the other blue). I know they are dependent on the release of data fro the states but are they then updating their own data in a timely manner?
I have to agree. It was very well done, refreshed frequently and it helped me avoid watching any of the news channels until much later in the evening.
I was watching it and my home state’s site (PA) all night. You are right. It was well done.
I agree. They were professional and unbiased . . . last night although not the rest of the election. I will check them out again in four years.
I agree.... the New York Times live forecast was extremely accurate once they started getting actual data supplied to them. It was so accurate and so live, there’s no way it was being done by human hands.
It must have been an algorithm chewing on live data coming in from all the secretaries of state.
I stayed with TV and found Fox unwatchable. I was on CNN most of the night. The reporting was honest and even though they were’t calling states it was obvious where the election was going. A bonus was Wolf Blitzed screaming for good news and not getting any.
I was pleasantly surprised with it, too.
Credit to them. They did it right. CBS was still trying to say it wasn’t over after Clinton conceded and Trump was giving his victory speech.
It was excellent. Too bad the NYT’s is going bankrupt. Well...not really. But hopefully they will sell this technology to someone else. Maybe People’s Pundit Daily. An excellent media source that just about nailed the election with its polling. And no...I have no connection to PPD other than reading it.

The NYTimes isn’t all bad. The Trump organization can buy the good assets in the bankruptcy liquidation.
This statistically driven AI will make it much more difficult to stuff the ballot box in the future. Once the trend lines are graphed and the probabilities with appropriate error bars are made visible, no one will believe that the last 3-5% of the vote somehow came in with just enough votes to save the losing candidate.
Totally unexpected blessing!
Yes. I agree with you. The NY Times web site was fantastic and that was the only reason I did not run out in traffic earlier in the evening, when it looked bleak for a while.
I agree. By far, it was the best tool I’ve seen at quickly capturing the mood/sentiment of the electorate. You could quickly see that Hillary was underperforming expectations in Michigan and Wisconsin, and they were the first to show Pennsylvania as a Trump win.
So, is your name “imp-imp” or “I’m pimp” ?
Why would a Free Trader globalist hack, such as yourself, be happy that Trump won the elections? Explain yourself.
You are a phony. Not buying your elation.
