New York Times live forecast was high quality. By 7pm I knew Trump might win. By 8pm central time I was gloating. Tv and 538 were crap compared to NYT.

At one point before the polls closed the NYT dashboard had her chances of becoming President at 90%.

The layout was very slick though. It did get very accurate as time went on.

Totally. Best of the night. Kept way ahead of all media. For example, demonstrated PA was Trump’s literally hours before other outlets.

I have to agree, much as it pains me. The data analysis and software for declaring probability as the results came in was impressive. Credit where credit is due.

New York Times live forecast was high quality.
I turned it on around 10pm with Trump being forecast as the winner with a 95% probability.
Thought it was a hoax at first. Great tool.

Yeah—I agree. It was excellent and UN-BIASED. A first for the modern NY Times.

Yes, it was the best internet coverage. I’ll give the NYT credit for that.

It started off with their way optimistic Hill win, and then went downhill from there. I really liked the candidates percent chance of winning cross-over at 7:30pm - AZ time....:^)

It also highlighted just how far off their initial projection/estimate was.

+10! I just mentioned this in another thread. Absolutely what data ought to be about with no apparent filters. Also, a great dashboard.

Drudge tagged NYT early, and I am glad for it.

You’re right. At first I ignored the little meter in the lower left that showed Trumps odds. Then I noticed it was moving and moving for trump! It jumped from 25 to 40% so quickly, and then steadily moved up from there.

I think it must have actually been data-driven with no pundit/editorial oversight...:^)

Hate to admit it but, I used it all night long and believe it or not, my 20 year old (conservative) son sent it to me from college. I was pleasantly surprised but in no way does it mean my opinion has changed of these commies.

Agree....

I knew as I watched it throughout the evening that their own web site at the NYT had to be causing them and their regular readers/viewers a lot of well deserved pain; accelerated in time ahead of the other news and network prognostication sources.

Thoroughly enjoyed thar reality as it emerged. Thank you, NYT! (For a change).

Last night we discovered that when just reporting facts and data without commentary, the NYT can in fact be excellent. When they start providing “context” and “nuance” and filtering out the “noise” they turn into a propaganda organ of the DNC. But the pure facts they had last night were fast, accurate, and well presented.

Yes... the NYT nailed it.

Best TV coverage was Fox-Business... Lou Dobbs didn’t take any crap from anyone!
