There were new calls on Thursday for a special prosecutor in the Clinton email investigation amid reports that former President Bill Clinton met privately with Attorney General Loretta Lynch earlier this week in Phoenix.
The legal watchdog group Judicial Watch requested that the Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General investigate the meeting on the grounds that, at the very least, the meeting gives the appearance of impropriety. The FBI and, ultimately the DOJ, will likely soon have to make a decision as to whether or not to charge Hillary Clinton with a crime over her use of a private email server. Judicial Watch cites a number of statutes, regulations, executive orders and the United States Department of Justice Ethics Handbook for On and Off-Duty Conduct, 14 Principles for Ethical Conduct that states:
14. Employees shall endeavor to avoid any actions creating the appearance that they are violating the law or the ethical standards set forth in this part. Whether particular circumstances create an appearance that the law or these standards have been violated shall be determined from the perspective of a reasonable person with knowledge of the relevant facts.
Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said, Attorney General Loretta Lynchs meeting with Bill Clinton severely undermined the already low public confidence in her agencys criminal investigation of Hillary Clinton.
In a segment with host Jake Tapper on CNN on Thursday, Donald Trump supporter Kayleigh McEnany addressed issue, saying the incident clearly gives the appearance of a conflict of interest and called on Attorney General Lynch to recuse herself. GOP Senator John Cornyn of Texas also raised the issue with a tweet on Thursday...

This doesn’t just include the emails, it includes Benghazi...
Lynch should be at the very top of Trump’s firing list once he assumes office...
This cannot be construed as anything but “conflict of interest”....
A special prosecutor is what they all want. Kick the can for another 2 years. This is just embarrassing that the wench is not in custody.
Loretta Lynch is in way over her head as is everyone else in this admin. Including the dumbshit golfer.
Duh, that's a given.
Incoming presidents always pick a new cabinet and agency heads.
My supposition is that we will get a special prosecutor and he or she will need many months to review the information collected to date. Loretta will have agreed with Bill that this will be done but will not be concluded until after the election.
The truth is that Hillary will have to be indited by the people or she will never face justice for her acts.
You’re probably as tired as I am reading “...at the very least, the meeting gives the appearance of impropriety.”
It’s a damn smoking gun!
Lynch will recuse herself putting off any action until after the election. That meeting between her and Bill was intentional. More stall and delay.
Exactly!!!!!!
“Gives the appearance” my a$$....
They said they were just talking about families....In a secret meeting in a separate plane..
Oh yeah....That happens all the time....
I’m wondering if the meeting between Lynch and the rapist was intentional to create just the sort of furor that’s currently happening. Then lynch stalls as long as she can before recusing herself. Then another stall tactic while the corrupt Marxist administration tries to foist another Clinton crony on us as the replacement to Lynch, then more stalling and delays and scheduled meetings that get postponed, followed by more delays, followed by the election and still nobody in place to move things forward.
It seems like every time I post something to the OP, some other FReepers have already posted the same idea well upthread from me. Maybe I’ll slow down and read all the comments before chiming in so it doesn’t look like I’m some parrot squawking what’s already been said a few times already.
Loretta Lynch gave him a blow job just like Monica Lewinsky. So was Loretta wearing a blue dress?
This cannot be construed as anything but conflict of interest....
++++
You are making the same mistake that the News Media (including Fox News) is making. You are focusing the attention of the public on the propriety of this meeting. That gets everyone talking about how this meeting between Bill and Loretta “just looks bad” due to the obvious conflict of interest.
Bill Clinton wanted this meeting.
Bill Clinton got this meeting.
Bill Clinton knew the risk he taking by meeting with Lynch.
Bill Clinton came to talk about the FBI investigation.
Everybody knows that.
Nobody talks about it.
Except here at FR.
This government has become so corrupt that there is no salvaging it anymore. Honestly, I believe its time to start over
There is an ABC reporter in Phoenix who is in deep trouble for reporting this secret meeting.
Now it all gets dragged out to well past November. THERE is the point of the meeting.
“”It seems like every time I post something to the OP, some other FReepers have already posted the same idea well upthread from me. Maybe Ill slow down and read all the comments before chiming in so it doesnt look like Im some parrot squawking whats already been said a few times already.””
I swore to do that at the beginning of the year - sometimes I succeed and other times, I just jump in without reading all the posts. No matter - we’re not going to be scorned or purged or threatened or whatever - so just keep posting!
“”So was Loretta wearing a blue dress?””
HA! You didn’t see what she was wearing, did you? Stripes around the hips as if she thought they might be missed!!!!!
She made a point of saying HE spoke to her husband and herself - why is her husband traveling with her on official DOJ business on a U. S. taxpayer funded aircraft???? Was he one who had to get off the plane before Clinton entered?
I thought it telling that she launched into, “He got on my plane and we talked about his grandchildren and our travels (or golf).” That was SUPPOSEDLY the first time the question had been asked of her. Don’t we all immediately just start out by saying what we talked about on meeting someone without any preamble whatsoever? Like a kid when an adult enters the room, “I wasn’t doing anything.”
