So NAFTA was such a great deal? Seems to me that's about when American industry began bleeding away.
This ?
Any government which forces the parachute of “asylum seekers” into a neighborhood with the threat of a fine is no longer a legitimate government. Legit governments do not run extortion rings.
Taxes are not fines; it is a legal means to maintain a government. The anti-migrant fines are extortion. Hence, this is government oppression of the native born
There ya go.
Yours is pithy, but I think it useful to expand it just slightly, to:
Life, liberty, and private property, protected by law.
Therefore, what Obama has been doing has screwed up the entire economy, big time.
You should have read the other two links as well... they get progressively worse for the “guy in charge”... up to, and including, death.
The ratchet to socialism goes only one way. It’s human nature to surrender freedom for security, not to mention being able to vote money out of your neighbor’s pocket. It’s how democracies end. The only recourse is reset. We lack the requisite resolve. The Obama re-election proved that the parasites have overtaken the host.
Thanks for posting this. Very interesting background and insights.
I disagree; I believe we were presented with a "heads we win, tails you lose" proposition in 2012 — we were handed a Morton's Fork and told to eat our food with it.
The only recourse is reset. We lack the requisite resolve.
I don't know if that truly is the only recourse; I believe God can turn the tides, and make a people's enemies fall into the people's hand. (See the Book of Esther)
How to have plenty:
1) private property rights
2) rational culture
3) capital accumulation
4) technological progress
If you’re waiting for God to save the US, bring extra food. ;)
The Nazis developed some pretty advanced weapons without a whole lot of liberty.
Stupid author spewing nonsense to make himself feel smart to the ignorant.
*** “ Liberty, protected by law “ ***
And those that will Stand to Protect it ... Enemies, Foreign or Domestic
I think you misunderstand.
I care more about the American economy than American “industry”. “Industry” is a code word for jobs for middle aged men who have no useful skills.
What?
No, industry is machining, manufacturing, and the like. — And those are useful.
Are they as useful as banking, high-tech, and finance?
I want a higher GDP per capita, adjusted for PPP (purchasing power parity). If one sector of the economy gets weaker then that is not something that troubles me.
Banking, as it is now, is so vastly regulated by the federal government that (a) there's no real competition, and (b) there's arguably a lot of defrauding.
High-tech involves a lot of manufacturing, unless perhaps you're looking at the software side (though even that requires hardware to run on).
Finance? How is that different than banking? In any case, it too is overregulated.
