Brazil’s embattled President Dilma Rousseff ignited the Olympic flame on Wednesday, as a nationwide torch relay got underway with protests highlighting the country’s deep political and economic crisis.

Rousseff presided over the flame ceremony in Brasilia, even though she faces impeachment and is unlikely to be in office when South America’s first Olympics open in less than three months.

“Brazil is ready to host the most successful Olympics in history,” Rousseff said in a speech to off the torch relay, which will reach 329 Brazilian cities and end on August 5 at the opening ceremony in Rio’s Maracana stadium.

Seems like more people than ever can’t be straight about anything. Between the fraud, cheating, scandals and lies, more people than ever have to decide the truth for themselves.

Why not simply require them to use provided bikes they aren’t alone with?

Why not just dismantle it and put it back together?

Pretty obvious from that frame size that she cheated. He bicycle looks tainted too.

The welded frame on a bike makes that impossible. You could torch it apart, but then you'd have scrap.

“The welded frame...”

A lot of modern frames consist of carbon fiber tubing glued (and sometimes screwed) into metal lugs including the bottom bracket.

Obviously not championship caliber legs. Reading further into this, it appears she also wasn’t very smart about her cheating.

As I understand it, the motors have a vertical shaft with a helical gear that meshes with another gear around the pedal shaft.

Seems it would be relatively easy to insist on pedal assembly removal and inspection, along with inspection of the bore where the pedal shaft runs.

Unless those parts aren’t removable on professional bicycles...

They found the motor. Did they find all the batteries, too?

Most of these bikes have carbon fiber frames.
