You are the one that said Trump hadn’t given any money yet. YOU CAN’T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS, doesn’t matter whether you are spoiled or not. But that’s ok we know you need to cry some more. This is why people have had enough of Cruz, it the holier than thou attitude u & CW spew on this forum.
Yes. I’ve read them. By current law, in my opinion, Cruz is eligible for the presidency absent any ruling by the SCOTUS on the meaning of NBC.
However, by the original laws of the land, I don’t think he would have been. A Cuban citizen who moved to Virginia to study at William and Mary and then moved to Canada with a bride he picked up in the US could not have passed citizen at birth status to his child. That’s my opinion, but if you reflect on it, I think you’ll see why I arrived at that conclusion, whether you agree with it or not.
In my opinion, we should have an amendment that (1) gets rid of anchor baby interpretations, and (2) makes the presidency available only to 3rd generation Americans, not 2nd generation Americans. I’m pretty hard core about the background of loyalty to the US.
I don’t think Cruz Senior had any loyalty to the US at the time of Cruz’s birth.
Oops; I meant statute, not statue. Auto-correct is working overtime today.
You raise excellent questions. As has been pointed out, we’ve seen plenty of Cruz Sr and nothing of Cruz’ mother. Not that, if she put in an appearance, she’d be questioned. Just interesting that she’s so scarce.
In all honesty, we don’t know with any certitude when the Cruzes moved to Canada. We certainly have no details from that time frame. It’s just hard to believe, after Obama’s disastrous tenure, people would gamble on another Man of Mystery.
One thing you can take to the bank about families with strong alcoholic issues: nothing is ever quite what it seems. This came to mind earlier today when Cruz lashed out at Gowdy. Normally a senator would show a modicum of respect for a fellow senator in his own party, while of course still making his point. But with Cruz, it’s always both guns blazing.
This is sadly the way with adults who were raised in alcoholic environments. They learn early that life is a battle, and the most aggressive combatant wins. So they approach any kind of criticism as Kill or be Killed. It’s very self defeating.
Prayers for Cruz, Heidi and the kids. May this all come right for them in the end.
He lashed out at Trey Gowdy?
Wow. Gowdy was just praising Rubio last night on one of the talking head shows.
I guess that really hacked Cruz off.
Donald Trump registered as a Republican for the first time as a 41 year old in 1987. We know from his own recounting that he grew up (or, at least, got older) as a Democrat. Twelve years later, in 1999, Trump walked away from the GOP to run as a candidate for the Independence Party. Then in 2001 his liberal sensibilities (remember he was still pro-choice, anti-gun and for higher taxes in 2001) drove him to register as a Democrat. It was not until 2009 that Trump changed his mind again. Donald Trump was a Democrat as recently as 2009. Trump registered as a Republican once again. However, Trump left the GOP again in 2011, registering instead as an independent before returning to the GOP again in April of 2012.
So, I think his name should be written as
Donald Trump (D, R, I, D, R, I, R - NEW YORK)
Adult children of alcoholic are co-dependent fixers, iirc.
He’d probably make a good president if it comes to hard work and involvement.
Too bad he lied about Canadian citizenship.
Gowdy wanted Cruz to renounce underhanded tactics, and Cruz fired back as only a graceless candidate can:

That’s amazing, because the Cruzers are going ballistic on Trump because he retweeted a tweet from a staffer who said former Sen Tom Coburn had blasted Cruz.
At one level political dirty tricks are part of it, but for some reason it surprises me from Cruz, since I saw him on TV kick off his campaign at Liberty University. It was a religious theme. I also saw him praise a former pastor in Tennessee, and it truly was touching...and religious. Very Christian.
I feel sorry for the guy in a way. Except for this eligibility thing, and his misrepresentations about his Canadian citizenship, I really would have a hard time not supporting him.
The more dirty tricks a campaign accumulates the more likely the candidate knows what is going on.
Are you honestly defending a 3 of 22 success rate?
I feel sorry for him too. Hard to imagine a little kid with not one but two alcohol-fueled parents. Then comes the abandonment. That kind of thing puts a young child through an emotional meatgrinder. I can only hope and pray it all comes out okay for the whole family. Generational issues are hard nuts to crack.
I think he and Rubio both have had to work for everything they have. That’s praiseworthy in my book.
I like the same thing with Ben Carson.
Admittedly, Trump had a multi-million inheritance to divide between very few brothers and sister, iirc.
But he took it to some real heights. His dad must have been pure genius, though.
Go little cobra... You know you’re gonna shut them down.
( ͡° ÍÊ Í¡Â°) thanks for sharing your “wisdom” great one!
People who want to pretend that “natural born citizen” means just “citizen” or sometimes, “not naturalized citizen” (meaning naturalized after being a foreign national” just do not want to delve into the truth; either due to laziness or they like a candidate who is a non-NBC, or have a foreign spouse and thus non-NBC children and just don’t like it. It’s emotion and bias driven ignorance.
Somebody has to defend it since your 100% into condemnation!
Don’t get negative much do you? Oh yeah, of course, it’s only negative if the name is TRUMP.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well said!
