A little pill called Captagon turns Jihadists into superhuman soldiers. They dont feel pain, they dont fear death and they dont get tired. They become killing machines. Bonus; it makes them murderously psychotic and causes brain damage after prolonged use. It is cheap, easy to produce and highly addictive. The Syrians take it as do the rebels. And from what I hear, ISIS loves the stuff. They laugh when they are beaten, they are high when they rape, they are jazzed when they behead infidels. During the raid in Paris, French police said they found needles used by the attackers to inject themselves with Captagon. The drug may have helped them remain calm as they carried out their brutal attacks, which included slicing the bellies open of their victims while they were still alive.
From the Washington Post:
As The Posts Liz Sly recently noted, the war in Syria has become a tangled web of conflict dominated by (al-Qaeda veterans, hardened Iraqi insurgents, Arab jihadist ideologues and Western volunteers.)
On the surface, those competing actors are fueled by an overlapping mixture of ideologies and political agendas.
Just below it, experts suspect, they are powered by something else: Captagon.
A tiny, highly addictive pill produced in Syria and widely available across the Middle East, its illegal sale funnels hundreds of millions of dollars back into the war-torn countrys black-market economy each year, likely giving militias access to new arms, fighters and the ability to keep the conflict boiling, according to the Guardian.

A powerful amphetamine tablet based on the original synthetic drug known as fenethylline, Captagon quickly produces a euphoric intensity in users, allowing Syrias fighters to stay up for days, killing with a numb, reckless abandon.
(You can not sleep or even close your eyes, forget about it,) said a Lebanese user, one of three who appeared on camera without their names for a BBC Arabic documentary that aired in September. (And whatever you take to stop it, nothing can stop it.)
(I felt like I own the world high,) another user said. (Like I have power nobody has. A really nice feeling.)
(There was no fear anymore after I took Captagon,) a third man added.
According to a Reuters report published in 2014, the war has turned Syria into a major amphetamines producer; and consumer.
(Syrian government forces and rebel groups each say the other uses Captagon to endure protracted engagements without sleep, while clinicians say ordinary Syrians are increasingly experimenting with the pills, which sell for between $5 and $20,) Reuters reported.
Captagon has been around in the West since the 1960s, when it was given to people suffering from hyperactivity, narcolepsy and depression, according to the Reuters report. By the 1980s, according to Reuters, the drugs addictive power led most countries to ban its use.

VOA notes that while Westerners have speculated that the drug is being used by Islamic State fighters, the biggest consumer has for years been Saudi Arabia. In 2010, a third of the worlds supply; about seven tons; ended up in Saudi Arabia, according to Reuters. VOA estimated that as many as 40,000 to 50,000 Saudis go through drug treatment each year.

Five years later, production of Captagon has taken root in Syria; long a heavily trafficked thoroughfare for drugs journeying from Europe to the Gulf States; and it has begun to blossom.
(The breakdown of state infrastructure, weakening of borders and proliferation of armed groups during the ⦠battle for control of Syria, has transformed the country from a stopover into a major production site,) Reuters reported.
(Production in Lebanons Bekaa valley; a traditional centre for the drug; fell 90% last year from 2011, with the decline largely attributed to production inside Syria,) the Guardian noted.
Cheap and easy to produce using legal materials, the drug can be purchased for less than $20 a tablet and is popular among those Syrian fighters who donât follow strict interpretations of Islamic law, according to the Guardian.
Doctors report that the drug has dangerous side effects, including psychosis and brain damage, according to the BBC.

According to the news service:
A drug control officer in the central city of Homs told Reuters he had observed the effects of Captagon on protesters and fighters held for questioning.
(We would beat them, and they would not feel the pain. Many of them would laugh while we were dealing them heavy blows,) he said. (We would leave the prisoners for about 48 hours without questioning them while the effects of Captagon wore off, and then interrogation would become easier.)
One secular ex-Syrian fighter who spoke to the BBC said the drug is tailor-made for the battlefield because of its ability to give soldiers superhuman energy and courage:
(So the brigade leader came and told us, this pill gives you energy, try it, ) he said. (So we took it the first time. We felt physically fit. And if there were 10 people in front of you, you could catch them and kill them. Youâre awake all the time. You donât have any problems, you do not even think about sleeping, you do not think to leave the checkpoint. It gives you great courage and power. If the leader told you to go break into a military barracks, I will break in with a brave heart and without any feeling of fear at all â youâre not even tired.)
Another ex-fighter told the BBC that his 350-person brigade took the pill without knowing if it was a drug or medicine for energy.
There are several things you should know about the drug. Syrias speed freaks feel invincible, like they can not be taken out. They feel no pain and no exhaustion. The profitable trade in the highly coveted drug is funding their weaponry and battle plans. It costs pennies to make and each pill sells for up to $20. It is called the drug of the Jihadists. It produces a killer euphoric high. Fighters lose all sense of morality and any conscience they might have had. They are calm and brutal while on the drug.
Captagon stimulates Dopamine production and improves concentration. Along with brain damage, it also causes heart damage. While on the drug, people become paranoid and hyper-vigilant. They lose judgement capabilities. It makes a person the perfect soldier who takes orders, has uber situational awareness and just loves to kill. This is what ISIS is taking to become what they are â monsters. Monsters that should be killed without a second thought.

All the more reason to believe that diplomacy, bargaining or rationalizing with these savages will not work.
Not only are they blinded by their ideology and the meaningless words of their false prophet... they are numbed with mind-altering drugs.
There is no talking to these people. There is no rationalizing. Just kill them. Every one of them.
Hitler was High most of his life and he gave tons of Crystal Meth ,Pervitin ,to his Soldiers
I am surprised that every army in the world does not insist that their troops become addicted to amphetamines. It is much cheaper to feed them after their teeth fall out. And, amphetamines also tend to make the troops more mature. I mean, they may be only 17 in years, but soon they look like they are 65.
I think the only decent thing to do is to send ISIS more Captagon.
As did the allies, albeit normal amphetamines.
Why take a pill? They could achieve the same high if they tasted bacon.
4 hour + Viagra, prescription strength ex-lax, anything that turns your wiz different colors...
All at the same time, of course.
I thought it was global warming that was behind this murderous rampage.
Wouldn’t they start to kill their own?
Seems to work like aderall another methamphetamine
I took it once and it made me very sociable, I even did not need to speak to people, there was like a glow that made people come to you. I could not shut up either. After it I had a hard time concentrating for about a week, a problem I never had before.
Hence ADHD is caused more by the drug than anything else, just like when prozak turned melancholy into outright depression
Nothing new, 21st century berzerkers.
We need to hire some infiltrators/smugglers to get this stuff for our guys and replace it with sleeping pills.
Captagon is a brand name for the drug Fenethylline, invented in 1961 by Degussa AG for the treatment of âhyperkinetic children,â or children diagnosed with ADHD.
Fenethylline: RS)-1,3-dimethyl- 7-[2-(1-phenylpropan-2-ylamino)ethyl]purine- 2,6-dione
Fenethylline is metabolized by the body to form the compounds amphetamine and theophylline. Theophylline is a chemical from the Xanthine class, which also includes caffeine.
Smarter Nootropics states that âWhen Captagon is taken, it becomes in vivo d-amphetamine and theophylline, and these two new compounds are absorbed into the blood stream, and can now cross the blood brain barrier and become centrally active.â
A study however, conducted in 2005 by Alabdalla MA for Forensic Science International of 124 batches of seized captagon, revealed they contained no fenethylline at all.
Rather, these counterfeit captagon tablets contained amphetamine, methamphetamine, ephedrine, metronidazole, caffeine, theophylline, chlorphenamine, procaine, trimethoprim, chloroquine, and quinine. In short, a drug cocktail far more potent than the original name brand version.
Now THAT isa summa gouda speed.
Wikipedia:
Abuse of fenethylline of the brand name Captagon is most common in Arab countries and counterfeit versions of the drug continue to be available despite its illegality.
Many of these counterfeit Captagon tablets actually contain other amphetamine derivatives that are easier to produce, but are pressed and stamped to look like Captagon pills. Some counterfeit Captagon pills analysed do contain fenethylline however, indicating that illicit production of this drug continues to take place.
Fenethylline is a popular drug in Western Asia, and is allegedly used by militant groups in Syria. It is manufactured locally in a cheap and simple process and it sells for between $5 and $20. According to some leaks, militant groups also export the drug in exchange for weapons and cash.
According to Abdelelah Mohammed Al-Sharif, secretary general of the National Committee for Narcotics Control and assistant director of Anti-Drug and Preventative Affairs, 40% of the drug users who fall in the 12â22 age group in Saudi Arabia are addicted to fenethylline.
On 26 October 2015, a member of the Saudi royal family, Prince Abdel Mohsen Bin Walid Bin Abdulaziz, and four others were detained in Beirut on charges of drug trafficking after airport security discovered two tons of Captagon (fenethylline) pills and some cocaine on a private jet scheduled to depart for the Saudi capital of Riyadh.
The following month, Agence France Press reported that the Turkish authorities had seized 2 tonnes of Captagon during raids in the Hatay region on the Syrian border. The pills, almost 11 million of them, had been produced in Syria and were being shipped to countries in the Arab states of the Persian Gulf.
The drug is playing a central role in the Syrian civil war.

Thanks, Whenifhow.
Good idea. I'd rather take over the manufacture of it and "spike" the punch with something immediately lethal
Alahawaptagon Whackbar!
Come to think of it, there is a good chance that Obazma is a frequent user.
