Started years before Trump was involved in Atlantic City. Trump offered her a lot more than the property was worth and an apartment for life and she turned him down. Property was sold in the last several years by her grandson for about 25% of what Trump offered her.
All he has to do is tell the truth - she didn't sell, she didn't move, no one took her property. Foolish decision on her part, IMHO, but, hey, it was her boarding house and hers to keep if she wanted to.
I know everyone here thinks Trump's indestructible but I think this is some bad stuff. And if he takes same approach he's taken in the past, that everyone does it and he's only abiding by the law, I don't think it will fly. Especially since he's taken such joy in bragging about buying off gov't.
I want Trump, I think he's our only hope. But I think this is too easily dismissed and might bring him down. No one on FR offered a defense either, I don't think there is one.
