Amusing. More likely it's for very severe wounds to prevent a fast bleed-out and maybe save the life.

You know, the "Stop bleeding, keep the airway open, prevent shock" you learned in boot camp?

Personally I could use some Bondo and peach paint for the wrinkles forming around my eyes now. This plus some 800-grit and buffing compound will make me look 23 again.
