In this day and age of social media and technology, we have all been made more aware of sexual predators and their actions than ever before. The question remains, do we still believe that sex with children is a crime, or are we now giving a pass to pedophiles in the name of sexual freedom?
Recently, all over the news and social media, ad nauseam, has been the story of the Duggars. This was a case of sexual abuse of 5 underage victims by Josh Duggar, when he was a teenager. The press had no issues with the questionable release of information about the victims even though they were under age at the time of the offense. But what does it matter if the press humiliates a child victim of sexual abuse as long as they get their story and in the process are able to discredit Christians? Who is protecting the rights of the victims?

Oh save it. Josh molested his Sisters. The information was legally released. Stop the “it’s just to persecute we Christians” BS. Yeah we get persecuted, and people will use it. Quite frankly, the parents and Josh deserve all the “hypocrite Christians” heaped on them. I’d prosecute them in a heartbeat.
We need to recognize the wolves among us and some of the Duggars are part of that pack. When we start pointing fingers at “what they are doing over there” as a defense to what is happening over here ... we become the LibTard.
I never make any ultimate judgment as to whether someone is a real Christian” or whether they are “forgiven”. That is WELL above my pay grade. But in this case all I know is that there was a sex crime committed here and it was covered up by the Parents. We should be disgusted and outraged.

My only issue here is the double standard.
Lena Dunham is brave for bragging about molesting her sister and falsely claiming rape.
Please be specific—specific— on:
1) just how juvenile Josh molested his sisters;
2) just how the information on a juvenile was “legally released”;
3) your basis for knowing “ there was a sex crime committed here and it was covered up by the parents.”
I feel your compassion for the victims. The ‘state’ has become the god of this nation.
Lena Dunham was seven years old when she "molested" her sister. Josh Duggar was 14-15. 14-15 is old enough to be tried as an adult in many states. There is not a state in the country that would try a seven year old as an adult, and most states would not even try a seven year old in juvenile court.
(she was, of course, much older when she published the false rape claim - that guy ought to take her for all she's worth).

The police reports were never sealed (as the case never went before a judge), and were released, in redacted form, in response to a valid FOIA request.

That much is clear from reading the police reports and listening to the Duggars describe Josh's conduct, and their own reaction to said conduct.

'Safe school czar' encouraged child sex with an older man

A teacher was told by a 15-year-old high school sophomore that he was having homosexual sex with an "older man." At the very least, statutory rape occurred. Fox News reported that the teacher violated a state law requiring that he report the abuse. That former teacher, Kevin Jennings, is President Obama's "safe school czar". It's getting hard to keep track of all of this president's problematic appointments. Clearly, the process for vetting White House employees has broken down.
In this one case in which Mr. Jennings had a real chance to protect a young boy from a sexual predator, he not only failed to do what the law required but actually encouraged the relationship.
According to Mr. Jennings' own description in a new audiotape discovered by Fox News, the 15-year-old boy met the "older man" in a "bus station bathroom" and was taken to the older man's home that night. When some details about the case became public, Mr. Jennings threatened to sue another teacher who called his failure to report the statutory rape "unethical." Mr. Jennings' defenders asserted that there was no evidence that he was aware the student had sex with the older man.
However, the new audiotape contradicts this claim. In 2000, Mr. Jennings gave a talk to the Iowa chapter of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, an advocacy group that promotes homosexuality in schools. On the tape, Mr. Jennings recollected that he told the student to make sure "to use a condom" when he was with the older man. That he actively encouraged the relationship is reinforced by Mr. Jennings' own description in his 1994 book, "One Teacher in 10." In that account, the teacher boasts how he allayed the student's concerns about the relationship to such a degree that the 15-year-old "left my office with a smile on his face that I would see every time I saw him on the campus for the next two years, until he graduated."

This whole Duggar thing is way weird.
Not picking on you my FR friend, but just to look at your phrase that the parents “covered it up”...
The incident(s) the Duggars are being crucified for happened YEARS ago - way before they ever thought they’d be a t.v. Show. So they didn’t cover anything up really.
Seems to me they had a young teenage kid who acted very badly on his new hormonal urges and was dealt with by the parents at the time.
When I was about ten, some neighborhood kids coaxed me into stealing a candy bar fron the local drug store as initiation into their “club”...
I barely even remember the incident, but remember how ashamed and worried I felt.
I can’t imagine if I somehow found myself as a subject of a tv show today or in any public position. I am a Christian and don’t mind saying so. But I’m sure I’d be CLOBBERED for such an incident - at the most “opportune” time of course.
To me, the Duggars faced a pretty rough family crisis/issue in the past with that. I think it’s a shame that they all are being savaged for it TODAY.
I admit that I haven’t kept up with reading every article on this, but I’ve seen enough contradictory headlines to know that there’s a lot of crap getting thrown in the mix. First it was a sleeping sister, then 2 sisters, then all sisters and their friends... Wow, you’d think Bill Clinton would wanna hire Josh as a personal aide... Heheheh...

Pedophiles should be executed shortly after being convicted. They’ll never change their compulsion to have sexual relations with children.
Sounds like this kid assaulted his child victims over and over.
God is free to forgive him — but, I wouldn’t trust this pervert any farther than I can throw him.
Neither should his parents.
