If the government declares something is or was not, it usually is or was.
IIRC, some buildings only suffered *partial* blackouts.
failed or shot out?
Thanks.
Thank you.
Have a good friend who works for SEMCO and knows what happened. SEMCO is in the distribution business, they do not generate any power.
A 203kv line from PEPCO came into one of their substations and actually melted one of it’s insulators. The line fell and hit one of the circuit breakers.
Thanks.....Sounds reasonable.

Yes, and the top executives of the rapid response team were able to determine that pretty quickly (after an emergency, three-hour, high-level brainstorming session in their think tank), when they discovered that all their appliances and other plug-in electric/electronic gizmos were not functioning in the exact same way they were before the "lack of electrical current due to some kind of interruption" overtook them.
(And, furthermore, President B-O no longer was able to know what was going on in the world, as his TV was not working as it had in the past, and he could not blab about anything either, as his teleprompter was not working as it had in the past before the interruption transpired, telling him what to say.)
(By the way, remember these guys and this story about them praying at the Episcopal National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. a while back?)

Martin, it is an imperfect world. Sometimes bolts fall out.
Truly.
Besides, this didn’t last long, did it? I left the area just as it happened, in fact.
If they got the power up that fast, it wasn’t that big a deal.
Give it a rest, tinfoil-hat conspiracy theorists.
How would that be? Most of our power is nuclear. Thank God.
