“It is as if a dam of hatred and resentment cracked and burst, spilling a reservoir of venom from a million rattlesnakes to cascade down a river of leftist and Establishment loathing…”

Pretty good description of the derangement.

For a couple of weeks now, various media mouthpieces have been repeating the BS that Sarah said she was interested in “running” in 2016.

As I recall, that is not what she said when asked a question by someone. ....Her answer to the question was that, yes, she was very interested in the 2016 election felt it was right to serve wherever possible.

I’m also very interested in the election, as are most people!

I took her answer to mean that she would help some candidates in their bids for election.

Sarah did

I agree with much of what was written.

I wish she would act like a serious person but she prefers to speak glibly, snide,or just rambling.

The only time she looked like a grown-up was her reply tone after the Arizona shooting tragedy.

You have to be respected on some level if you want to lead people. She’s frittering that away, unfortunately.

Your last phrase captures it; “She’s frittering that away, unfortunately”. For every good speech or interview she does within the last two years, Sarah (or Bristol) will say something to chip away at, erode or cancel out the gravitas of her political stature. Latest example is her appearing to become upset with Bill O’Reily for linking her to Trumps’ reality show approach to the Bully Pulpit.
Most folks don’t want their political leaders doing too much changing. You can only be so multifauceted, after which, one seems to be uncentered, unsettled at how they wish to be perceived.

If Sarah wishes to be a talk show host , a touring lecturer,or a reality show entertainer, she can be all that, and would do a splendid job, but if she has any political ambitions as in holding office, she may have to stay in character long enough for people to think they really know and understand her. She is only 50, so in the political world, Sarah has plenty of time. Meanwhile, she should not be surprised when folks see her first as a celebrity vs only a social/political figure.

SARAH PALIN'S PING LIST!

When you compromise with Evil, you do not get a lesser version of truth, rather you get a lesser version of Evil.

"People are going to say whatever and try to claim whatever to try and take us out. They have an irrational fear of us. They want us on a leash. We're not going to be on a leash. They want us to dance. We're not going to dance with them."

The idea behind so many of these articles is to diminish her chances should she decide to run. And, quite frankly, I’m sick of the BS said on this forum about her too - since when did the commie-in-chief, give such an awe-inspiring speech - or have the fire in his belly - other than when he was playing the race card? So, to some on her - if she decides to run - fine - if not - that’s fine too. Just STFU, and let Sarah be Sarah and stop trying to tell her what to do and how to do it.!!!!!!

I had the same idea, since that news was mostly coming from leftist MSM sources. However, I found this interview with Hannity, in which she discusses the possibility of running.

http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/hannity/transcript/2015/01/28/sarah-palin-explains-thought-process-possible-2016-bid

I hope she's OK. That interview was strained.

I watched Sarah’s entire speech, and I thought it was fine. I, however, have not gotten the impression from her that she really wants to run. Everything she does is examined with a microscope. I’m a senior citizen, and I have never in my lifetime seen any political person treated so unfairly. Sadly, many on the right are just as unfair as those on the left. If the press had examined Obama the way they have Sarah, our country would be in a much better place.

Palin has made a good name for herself on the right as an often prescient commentator and regularly delights us by annoying the biens pensents with her calculatedly folksy mannerisms. However, if she really want a shot at the Presidency, from where she is now she needs to be elected to another high office -- either run for Governor of Alaska again, win and serve a whole term, or win and serve a few terms in the House or a term in the Senate, then hit the hustings as a Presidential contender.

It's more unfortunate that people who should be thankful for her consistent opposition to the left have instead bought in to the caricature of her the left has made.

She's been the most consistently correct critic of this administration. She's been the best and most effective player in her endorsements. Better than anyone else.

Ted Cruz has consistently said that without her, he could not have won, without her there is no Senator Cruz. That sounds like a serious person to me.

The idea that she is frittering things away, or is not serious is an idea that is born from leftist spin. Watching those on the right repeat this nonsense and making points for the left is more than upsetting, quite frankly it's disgusting.

Conservatives will never be taken seriously until we stop eating our own. When all this character assassination started in 2008, how many of us (I admit not doing a good enough job) either allowed it to happen or joined in the hatchet job?

It SHOULD NOT be necessary to defend our candidates, but, in reality, it is necessary. By sitting by while our candidate got trashed, it only emboldened the enemy to repeat in 2010, 2012 and now 2014. And it will get worse in 2016.

Silence in 2008 led to “teabaggers” - we did nothing. It led to all kinds of trash talk against candidates in 2010. We did nothing. That led to the Romney debacle in 2012. And 2014 was another year of trashing candidates. And we keep attacking our own, encouraging the enemy to ramp it up in 2016.

Some Freepers may object to my characterization of those who are trying to destroy Conservatism as “the enemy”. They are as much an enemy as are Mohammedans. LIBs and GOPe would, if given the chance WOULD kill the men, WOULD rape our women and WOULD sell our children into slavery. Ignore at your peril.

JMHO, this entire MSM (and yes, I’m counting ‘net blogs and posters as a part of that rancid old cabal) campaign is a crass attempt to abort Sarah’s influence on anything to do with politics, let alone campaign for President.

The bums all wrote their little stories to one another about how they had neutered the Tea Party a couple of weeks ago and now we’ve got a couple weeks’ worth of exactly the same people spouting yet another delusional bale of road apples, with SP (again) in the crosshairs.

They call themselves by all sorts of wonderful labels, but they are, by and large, pseudo intellectual, self absorbed little prigs so lacking in integrity and imagination it requires a committee of the whole to generate but a single thought, which is then taken and dressed up with flights of fancy and obscure and/or obsolete turns of phrase just to set themselves apart and attempt to impress the rubes actually read their drivel. I’ve seen better (or at least more honest) excuses for journalism done in chalk on a Day Care playground sidewalk.

...and the same bunch of pompous jackwagons can’t figure out why their ratings/circulation keep doing those fast turns down the crapper.

Well, success in that and in the general would give her a chance to prove herself as a Senator. If she were to do as well in the Senate as she did as mayor and then governor (and at building a media empire), I’ll be in the Palin ‘20 or Palin ‘24 camp. You can check FR’s archives and find I’d advocated her for the VP spot before McCain picked her, but even so, I don’t think from where she is now that Palin ‘16 is a good idea, for her, the conservative movement, the GOP or the country.
