As tax payer money poured into the VA to take care of the increasing soldiers requiring treatment, the upper echelon bureaucrats funneled the money away into building projects to benefit the unions, high tech machines that gave kick-backs from manufacturers and other schemes designed to line their back pockets. No money was left to hire more staff to treat the increasing load of patients.
Investigate that you lazy congress critters.
