Frankly I’m quite dismissive of the comments I’ve read so far.

no one can honestly comment on this until they themselves go through the registration process and dispute this outline I copied elsewhere:

“.... went on to point out that the site makes you input all your personal information before giving you an indication of the costs...”

the ominous warnings came AFTER the person declined the $600/mo he was quoted and chose to opt out.

It’s got to be the most efficient way for the feds to determine who needs health insurance.

Makes no difference. The IRS is going to get data from all the insurance providers and cross ref to tax returns.

Those 15,000 new accountants and attorneys are hard at work.

However, someone who got into the sign up, saw the premiums, and chose opt out, got their notice of fine e-mail from the IRS threatening to kill their driver’s license and put a lien on their home.

Someone has already posted that on FR.

I think it's a hoax. It gets a number of details wrong.

At the least, it's unwarranted hyperbole. There is plenty that is wrong with ObamaCare. There's no need to make anything up.

That statement, “As the HHS secretary shall determine” is found all throughout the mengelecare act.

And IF there is a provision preventing the fedgov from emptying a bank account, since when has this gang respected the laws?

I agree with you and I’d DEFINITELY like to see that email.
This Will Sheehan deal looks very dubious.

I wondered about that, but it is remaining up on the Healthcare.gov site for hours. I have to wonder.

If your employer provides healthcare and you are with them and do not apply for Obama care wouldn’t they be more likely to take it out of your employers account? Fine your employer?

I read sometime ago that one of the “We have to pass this bill to find what’s in it” provisions allows the IRS direct access to all of your monied accounts.

I you have employer healthcare, by definition you are in compliance, because employers (except those exempted by “waivers”) can only offer coverage that meets the Obamacare requirements. That’s why prices are going way up.

I also wondered about that, but the moderators are responding on the site today.

Exactly. I have no money. I have no bank account.

Regarding the Drivers Licenses, States issue those. Fed’s can try to regulate those using distribution of tax money. They did this with the 65mph (Arizona and many States ditched the 55 mph). Department of Transportation threatened to not give back the States our own tax money.

With the bunch and their interpretation of the Constitution, nothing would surprise me.

The IRS will be enforcing it, and the IRS already routinely removes unpaid taxes from bank accounts.

The current law as written does not permit the penalty ("tax") to be removed electronically or any other way from bank accounts. Obama would have to issue an executive order or the congress would have to change the law to do this. It is true that premiums often will be paid electronically from bank accounts.
