In the wake of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., the National Rifle Association advocated placing armed guards in all schools sparking a nationwide bad guy with a gun/good guy with a gun debate. Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Newtown Board of Education voted to request additional armed SROs (school resource officers).
Combined with the eight unarmed security personnel slated into the still-unapproved 2013/2014 budget, the plan would put two eyes and ears one armed, one unarmed at each Newtown school, according to Bronxvilles Patch.
At this point, the vote is only a request, and today board is meeting with state and federal officials about obtaining additional funding for security. According to the Patch report, parents unanimously voted to increase the budget for security.
According to Head O Meadow PTA President Laura Tierney, parents at the meeting voted unanimously to advocate for an increased budget that would allow for at least two SROs at their school.
There was just a lot of support parents wanting to support and get involved in the budget process. Theyre definitely behind what you did, she told the board. Thank you.

I hope the New York Post has to eat its front page where they called LaPierre a GUN NUT!

They still don’t get it do they?
All 10 should be armed.
Huh? If given the option, I'd want the armed guy with two eyes and ears but pass on the unarmed guy without any eyes or ears.
Would the armed guard get paid a lot more than the unarmed one?
This should pop a few liberal heads. Would love to see that, too.
I’m just as confused as you. One eye armed and one ear armed? Or both eyes armed but both ears disarmed?
I suspect that the liberals around Newtown becom a bit less liberal after realizing that locked doors and good intentions will not stop a crazed gunman.
Why allocate for one ‘unarmed’ security person at each school? Does it cost more to allocate for a 2nd ‘armed’ security person?
Is that ‘unarmed’ security guard going to be issued ‘scissors’ or may be a rock or at least a sheet of paper.
Hey, paper cuts can stinnnnnnnnnnnnng.
[More PC crap.]
Don’t worry, I am sure the obama rimjob media would never frame the story in such a way as to report it that a whole town basically rejected O-hole’s ridicule of the idea.
And personally I would not put cops in there. I’d just let conceal carry be allowed by adults in school and on school grounds. Nutjobs would never know who or how many threats would take them down.
This will never make news, the truth is on page 6
How many ‘bullets’ does the one armed guy get to carry?
Someone’s not following the script.
Good. The left wants to take guns away from everybody except violent criminals.
funny thing- i live in New Castle, liberalsville, USA (two miles from the clintons)....i’m about 40 minutes from Sandy Hook elementary school...
our uber liberal school district just sent out a survey asking if parents wanted armed guards or police officers in schools....there were a battery of questions about if we wanted them, where we wanted them and how they should patrol...
"The well-trained law enforcement officer doesn't need more than one bullet to handle any situation that might arise during the performance of his patriotic duties. Of course you do have to have a gun, Ange."

Actually, be careful here. I live in Connecticut. We live in a low crime town like most of them. A member of the police union came around here and pitched to the town hall that a “town of your size needs X amount of police officers.” However, we simply didn’t have the need or the crime to justify it, and it would increase property taxes. Now, if we start putting “armed guards (police officers)” in the schools. That will raise our police force from 25%-50% potentially for no other reason than to prevent another Sandy Hook.
