Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
This is rare for me to even write about the darker side of our one common enemy. I felt the need to write an article on the all too real dangers lying in wait for anyone unaware. Everyone needs to be reminded from time to time about just how much the devil pursues us. We learn in the first book of the Bible why Satan hates us to much. It is because we were created in the image of God. Satan knows how much God loves us, and therefore he is on a mission to take away what God loves by any means necessary. 1 Peter 5:8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
He goes by many names but his angelic name God gave him was Lucifer out of Isaiah 14:12. The Hebrew translation for morning star is Lucifer. Most people dont take this enemy too serious either. The entertainment world has been fixated on the supernatural for the last decade, more so in the few years. No one is taking anything away from these films other than a thrill and a distorted view of the underworld. Most Christains dont support these films because anyone that has the Holy Spirit living within them recognizes evil onsite.
The evil one does so much of his work in religious atmospheres...

Thank you I think? What do you mean bookmark GOP Poet?
It means I am super busy right now, but want to make sure and read this as soon as my time is freed up. Thank you for posting it. I look forward to reading it. :) Happy 4th of July!
Oh great! Thanks so much :)
I think it wise to consider that God gave us free will.
That implies we have the ability to CHOOSE to do GOOD, or EVIL.
The ‘evil’ that exists in this world, comes from one place only, and that is man.
God gives us what we need. Lucifer believes that ‘man’ will worship him, if he gives us what we want.
And we want the worst things. And we’re never happy, no matter how much we get.
It’s a miracle that God Loves us. We’re a pretty sorry lot.
he spelled bait wrong..............
You my friend are wrong and the fact you do not believe in the existence of satan pleases satan very much. True, with free will, attending to the Word of God, man can resist. But satan is very real. Why do you think when a married man meets his soul mate, the feeling of euphoria and attraction is as strong as a spell? Despite being married and having built a life and having children and a home, he will reject it all for his newly found soul mate, only to find out later she is bitter as wormwood?
Or the lure of drugs?
We in politics are suckers for all types of temptation. I see little mileage in debating the source of that temptation. “The devil made me do it.” is no different than “It’s Bush’s fault” or “The media’s fault” or “The RINO’s fault.”
The reality is we are faced with temptation. Is hypocrisy our biggest reaction to temptation? We claim to be for small government; but then argue for big government for our one pet issue. Or we claim to be for capitalism; but then argue for corporatism or socialism for our one pet issue. We claim to be pro-life or pro-2d amendment; but then make exceptions based on absurdities.
Indeed -- If I wasn't me I wouldn't love me.
Great read. Thanks. I printed it out.
You wrote it and posted it to your blog.
Why did you excerpt it here?
If we’re just chattel for your hit count, then don’t count on us clicking through.
(To get respect you gotta give respect.)
The bible is clear on the existence of satan and his objectives. I agree with most of what you posted, but will just clarify this one point.
It's not what you say, it's how you say it.
He sure is. He vacations in New Hampshire. A lot.
What a bunch of humanist, new age B.S.
I would read the rest if it was posted here.
I don’t click on MySpace pages trying to piggy back on FR’s popularity.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Before anointing yourself biblical scholar, you may try to get some of the basics correct.
“Lucifer” means “light-bearer.” You’ll see the word parts in English words such as “luminous” and “transfer.” It is the Latin translation of the Greek word, “phosphorus.” Phosphorus, nowadays, is associated with the element which produces great light when burnt, and which was often used in magic acts. In ancient Greek, it was also the Greek name for Venus.
Isaiah 14:12-15 refers to Babylon as “Helel” in Hebrew, meaning “shining one.” This was translated, in Greek, to “Heosphorus,” literally “dawn-bearer.” Origen (4th century) related this passage as symbolically referring to Satan. Medeival monks related “Heosphorus,” (which the passage refers to as a “star”, a word once applied also to planets) to the planet “Phosphorus,” since Venus would often rise just before the Sun, being usually in the approximate direction of the Sun, because of its inferior orbit. Then, translating “Phosphorus” into Latin, they came up with the name “Lucifer.”
This must have been quite a shock to other Christians, who saw their role as “bearing light to the world,” following Jesus command to be “the light of the world.” Hence, they called themselves, “Luciferians!”
