Ever since Trayvon Martin was gunned down by George Zimmerman just moments from his front door, some people have been trying to make Trayvon look like a trouble making 17-year-old black kid who started a fight with a man who was only doing his job. That's crap!
Regardless of what they say, I know in my heart that wasnt the person he was. Im not saying he was an angel because no one is perfect, but hes not what people are trying to make him out to be. I consider that totally disrespectful for anyone to slander anyone elses name when theyre no longer breathing to defend themselves. I believe its a cowardly and disrespectful move. So what if he was suspended from school for having a baggie with marijuana residue in it and he has THC in his system at the time of death, you cant judge someone for something you have done or still do. Here are four reasons why Trayvons marijuana usage should be completely irrelevant.
1. You cant judge someone for something you have done or still do.
Everyday people of all ages, races, and social statuses fire up blunts, smoke joints, and hit bongs in hopes of easing their minds and obtaining that good feeling. Though everyone in the world doesnt smoke weed, the average person does smoke or has at least tried smoking. Those who smoke can tell you that they more than likely started smoking as a young kid, teenager, or in their 20s. If anyone has tried smoking, it was usually during the previously mentioned time that this experience took place. May I remind you that The Peoples Son, as I would like to call him, was only 17-years-old? No one walking this earth is perfect, so people need to put their fingers down.
2. Marijuana Does Not make you aggressive.
THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, has been proven to make the user the complete opposite of aggressive. Anyone who uses common sense knows that weed is considered a downer and not an upper, which means that its going to slow you down and calm you before it makes you aggressive and prone to violence. After smoking any amount of weed, no one really wants to fight; they just want to eat and chill out. Alcohol is the strongest pharmacological link to violence and its the one thats actually legal.
3. People use drugs and alcohol use to paint imperfect pictures of people.
People are always so quick to use toxicology reports against other people to make them seem like a less than adequate person. If you drank a beer or two, would you like it if people called you an alcoholic? I dont think you would appreciate it very much. Ok, now imagine you were deceased. How would you feel, so to speak, and how do you think your family and friends will feel when they know you good and well you were nothing of the sort? Reports say that Trayvons THC and THC-COOH levels were so low that they cant be connected to intoxication. Even if he was stoned out of his mind from smoking the best weed ever grown, he still wouldnt have been in an aggressive state because weed is a downer and not an upper.
4. Drug use of any type is irrelevant because Trayvon was minding his own business while was he was on his way home.
It doesnt matter if Trayvon was smoking weed or smoking crack, the point is that he was in his own zone minding his own business while he was on his way to his place of residence. He never took it upon himself to go mess with George Zimmerman, Zimmerman took it upon himself to mess with Trayvon. Trayvon could have been blowed out of his mind, but he wasnt bothering anyone. If he was high at the time he was killed, he was just going home to finish watching the game and enjoy his high. He didnt want any trouble, but trouble sure sniffed him out like a rabid bloodhound.
Its been almost three months since Sybrina and Tracy saw or talked to their son. I know what it feels like to want to hold your child, but realize that all you can hold is a picture and your memories. Sometimes people just want to report the facts or get their point across, but dont always stop to realize that this isnt just a news story; this is an innocent life thats gone and a family thats hurting. People are quick to report someone elses shortcomings, but work twice as hard to hide their own.
If de nose be broke, you must acquit de bloke!
It’s a shame that someone who is capable of writing coherent sentences, as this author is, has nothing but nonsense to convey.
Smoking marijuana is a criminal act therefore Trayvon Martin was a criminal.
Unless it is laced with PCP. "Angel Dust" is a common adulterant of low grade marijuana, and can produce extremely violent episodes. So, if no one tested for PCP, we just don't know.
She’s be upset ‘cause Travon didn’t have his piece on him so ‘dat he could pop him first.
Alcohol is also a downer. Marijuana is less a downer than an anti-anxiety drug.
Also, marijuana is illegal. Alcohol is not.
If they released Zimmerman’s toxicology report and it showed he had THC or booze in his system, this woman would be a stark-raving-mad lunatic saying he should be executed. Double-standards always exist for blacks and Democrats but never for whites.
Suppressed thought processes and reaction times should not be a factor? In a single-car crash in non-inclement weather where a substance was previously taken, that’s the ONLY factor. Why should this be any different?
Oh that’s right, because the Communists have an agenda with this story.
The twinkie defense all over again?
Apathetic and dead.
Run that article through the Ebonics Translator. It comes out the funniest thing I have read in a long time.
Unfortunately decorum prohibits me from posting the output here.
Correct. And my goodness, you've had an interesting life!
BWAAAAAHAHAhahahahaha! This is a great way to frame the argument, eh? Well his mind is 'eased' like a mofo now.
>> Shes be upset...
You, Sir, are obviously not of the educated class. Referring to my textbook on Ebonics: “She be upset..” is correct.
Once I was nearly run over by four pot-smokers in a car. They were trying to hit me.
THC makes you paranoid and murderous.
Even if being high doesn’t make one (more) agressive, it could certainly make a person wander aimlessly which is exactly the behavior that raised Zimmerman’s suspicion in the first place. So actually, it was THE factor when you consider that the prosecution’s whole case is that Zimmerman should not have left his car.
