Republican Texas Senate Race (Who to vote for?)
FreeRepublic Vanity of Vanities | 04/25/2012 | MeanWestTexan

I have been out of the country for some time, so I am confused as to who to vote for to take the place of Kay Barely Texan who is (thank G-d) finally leaving the Senate.

So far it looks like Ted Cruz is my choice, but I don't know.

I can tell David Dewhurst is the establishment choice, and he's been running sleazy ads like a typical RINO. I also am pretty underwhelmed by his record in the state government, in that he pushed a stealth corporate income tax.

That said, I can be persuaded.

What say you?

It will be between Cruz or Dewhurst. Almost no polling but I guess that will change as the primary gets closer.

Not sure how you got that from the web sites or youtube video. I really don’t think I would help a chinese company to this extent. Sure we all buy the crap from china but it’s not like we have much of a choice htese days.

Here’s the story from the horses mouth:
http://meetjordanfishman.com/

Here’s a copy of the appeal with Ted Cruz’s name all over it.
http://meetjordanfishman.com/20101123_ECF_8_Appearance_of_Counsel_Ted_Cruz_for_Shandong_Linglong_Rubber.pdf

Sorry the messy links. Maybe someone can get more details from the appeals court website and post them here.

If you like how Texas has been run since 2003, then you can blame Dewhurst. He has been the one running Texas since then.

Other than appointing people to state official positions, the Governor doesn’t do much else(except forget stuff).

Most of the lifting is done by the Lt. Governor. The budget = Lt. Governor. The economic decisions = Lt. Governor.

Texas has had one of the best, if not the best economies, during Dewhurst’s term.

As far as negative ads, us Conservatives need to get over, or on board with, mudslinging. You don’t have to like it you just need to know mudslinging works and you need to do it to win.

You know who doesn’t sling mud? John “cry baby” Boener. John “insane” Mccain. I am personally sick of apparently spineless men running our party.

Ted needs to start slinging some mud if he wants to win.

We need a fighter in there, so step it up Ted if you want to play at the top.

Ted Cruz would represent freedom I believe. Dewhurst would represent political correctness and self promotion.

Cruz is not an establishment politician ... reason enough to vote for him.

IMO Dewhurst wields way more power behind the scenes in his current position than Perry ever has and has the core money and political machine from Austin totally behind him. Dewhurst is also the reason we have Strauss running the Senate. He would be even more devious and left leaning than Kay Bailey - if that is possible. We finally have a chance to get at least one Conservative Senator representing us - I hope the electorate doesn’t mess it up by voting for Dewhurst instead of Cruz.

David Dewhurst is a really nice guy. He’s sort of a fraternity brother of mine. I first met him when Falcon Seaboard was doing business with a my bank customer and I wanted to check out my prospect. But.. He’s like the school board member that gets in the weeds about spending either 40 or 60 million for a new high school sports stadium or the fellows in the Rotary Club who don’t want to make waves.

I’m for Cruz. We need people that are prepared to make transformational changes.

Hucabee endorses Dewhurst, DeMint endorses Cruz. ‘nuf said?
Ted Cruz all the way if you want someone with a back bone that doesn’t have a wet finger in the air, checking the direction of the political breeze.
