We need to look at this issue with open eyes and call a spade. This all began with the Patriot Act. I know I drove my conservative friends nut when I said that it was a disaster .. but it is. Ever since it’s passage, our government, Repub or Dem, has raced as fast as it can to create a police state. If we are to stop it, we MUST ID those in both parties that are shoving this unconstitutional nightmare down our throats.
I’m a conservative and I agree with your comments about the so-called Patriot Act.
I was scorched by conservatives over the Patriot Act. I was told ‘If you aren’t doing anything wrong, what do you have to worry about’ and I responded that it doesn’t matter. I don’t lose my constitutional rights ‘for the good of the people’ as that was Russia’s justification. Not to mention how worrisome it is when it gets in the wrong hands.
Conservatives (many here of FR even) were duped big time with that one.
Well you have it it right on the head. The Patriot Act is the club that the DHS uses to subvert our 1st and 4th ammendment freedoms. Never forget that the this all came about under GW Bush. We cannot blame obama for those two monstrosities. I personally believe the DHS is the most dangerous agency ever created in the history of our country and until or unless it is shut down or cut down to about 1/5th its size and scope we will see a continuation of the installation of the police state no matter who gets elected president next year.
