Yes, you've nailed it. We have been chipping away at our fundamentals (demographics, education, work ethic, morality, culture) for quite some time. We were up to the challenge of WWII in 1941-5 because we were, simply put, a different country than we are today. Today's America doesn't have anywhere near the quality that we were in 1941-5. That's why I question these people who say America has always risen to the challenges before it. Well that was true in the 1940's but 60 years of liberalism and 50 years of moronic immigration policy have destroyed the fiber of the nation.
