You are wrong.
I continue to like Chuck, even though I don’t always agree with him.

I am getting tired of people on our side holding Charles Krauthammer up as some screen test for conservative candidates.Give us an example of who holds up KHammer as a screen test for conservatives? I've never heard such talk in my life.

I never heard him say much about Palin, now compare him to the “conservatives” David Brooks and Scarborough.

Not sure I agree that Krauthammer is a RINO. He winds up on the conservative side of things most of the time and speaks very well doing so.
Who agrees with everybody 100% of the time on anything?

“The guy was a speech writer for Carter and Mondale what else needs to be said?”
Fellow with the initials RR used to be a Democrat.
Became a pretty good Republican President.

Can someone remind me of any positions which Krauthammer holds which would be considered "Conservative"? Everything I hear from him lately sounds like something Chris Matthews might say.
As another poster on another thread pointed out -- He's Canadian, he's Jewish, he's a psychiatrist, he's in a wheelchair, he was a speech writer for Carter, he was a speechwriter for Mondale. Does this sound like the description of a Conservative or a Liberal?
I used to like him, but now I have no idea why.

The more Krauthammer attacks Palin on non policty issues, the more I support her Why would your support for Palin (or any candidate, for that matter) be influenced by the ramblings of a political pundit? Frankly, I don't give a rip what Kraut or anyone else has to say abour Sarah's chances.

“he is calling Obama the comeback kid; what a joke”
I completely agree with that point - the motivation of your piece.
Obama is the crash & burn kid. It’s dramatic, it’s shocking, and America has never seen anything like it before.
And that is a good thing.
As a rule of thumb - if people are given a lot of TV face time, you HAVE to wonder about them.

Smartest commentator around. Unfortunately there are some on the right that find certain truths unpalatable. Charles is not always right but he’s right far more than most. The fact that he has gored your particular ox doesn’t change that.

Krauthammer has earned the respect and attention of all conservatives. He tells the unvarnished truth as he sees it. His analysis is always valuable, even when we disagree with it.

I've never been a huge fan of Krauthammer, but I respect his opinion on a lot of issues even if I disagree with him. And there's no question that he's one of the best political pundits around today.
My biggest complaint about him is that he's what I like to call a "Beltway conservative" -- which is someone who is basically a liberal on most issues, but seems to be a conservative only in comparison to his peers in his industry (the media) and the populations of those places where his industry is centered (Washington, New York, Los Angeles, etc.).

Krauthammer, David Frum, and even Michael Medved all are made of the same cloth. Intellectual highly educated North Eastern Republicans who look down their noses at fly-over country small town American conservatives. All would list Romney, in the top three people they would like to see get the 2012 nomination, and Palin near the bottom of their list, just above Ron Paul who should be at the bottom.

I know he was wrong about the TEA Party in the beginning. He is a pundit after all and most of them are still working off of the old models. The TEA party ascendancy is different than other “conservative movements” and he was very dismissive for quite a while.
