Who is your best guess for a surprising 2012 dark horse candidate?

Just as Mike Huckabee came pretty much from out of nowhere to win the Iowa Caucus in 2008 I'm sure there will be dark horse candidates in 2012 who will surpass expectations.

Who do you think will do far better than expected in the primaries.

Windflier in my opening to this thread I asked for guesses of people that would do better than expected in the primaries. I used Mike Huckabee as the prime example because he did far better than anyone expected in 2008. I didn’t ask for who FReepers thought would win the primary battles and get the nomination, that horse is getting beaten to death on other threads. Had I known (though I am not surprised) that somebody from the Palin cult would come rushing in all in a lather I would have asked “Who do you think will finish second or third in the primary battle?”

I specifically asked for it to be a fun thread. I wanted it to be light hearted. Believe it or not not everything is about Sarah Palin. If I ask in a future thread, “Who do you think will come in second place in the primaries?” will you have a problem with that too?

Laura Ingrahm. She makes Palin look like a girl scout.

Close your eyes and imagine Laura in a debate against Obama...oh the joyful slaughter.

Sheeesh, friend. If you really want to establish a civil discourse with me, why insult me by calling me a "cult[ist]" who's "rushing in all in a lather..."? Methinks it's not your honest intention to build a bridge with talk like that.

So, I didn't post my pick for a 2012 dark horse candidate per your apparent posting rules. Sorry, but folks here will make whatever comment suits them, on any thread they like. There's really not a whole lot you can do to control that.

I honestly can't answer the opening question of your thread, which is why I said what I said to begin with. Frankly, I don't see the scenario you propose coming to pass.

I think Chris Christie might be a real dark horse. I believe he probably could win one or two of CA,IL,NJ, or NY.

Perhaps most importantly, I think he is one of the few potential candidates who could seriously threaten Romney in New Hampshire.

Ooooh...love it, love it, LOVE IT!

I love than man, with his moxie and chutzpa.

There aren’t many men in Washington, D.C. about whom one could use those terms.

Although, there is one who will soon be in the corridors of power...

Allen West.

I can’t wait to see him take that honkin’ big gavel from Madame Pelosi and hit her over the head with it! lol
