They have always "served secretly". The ONLY difference DADT made was that no one dared ask. NOW they'll serve openly. THAT is a disaster.

(Oh and as you seem to want to present yourself as some sort of "expert" on NATO, I can't help but wonder why you brought up French troops. The French have been withdrawn from NATO militarily for decades.)

Are you deliberately obtuse or is it an intellectual handicap? There is a huge difference between the conservative position and the position that you hold. Here's a summary in case you're confused:
Conservatives: Want to repeal DADT and NOT ALLOW homosexuals to serve in the United States Military. We don't give a damn how the Europeans do it.
YOU: Want to repeal DADT and allow homosexuals to serve in the US Military as long as they can pass the same tests that are given to everyone else who wants to enlist.
Do you see the difference?
I can post a link (yet again) to testimony by a US general who served with NATO troops and the NATO leaders told him that having homosexuals in the military harmed military morale and readiness.
